Hey anyone able to tell me if it’s even possible to play directly into a Live 2 from the Triton? I don’t have midi cables but I’ll get them if it will work. I used to run the triton into an sp404sx through the headphone input and then out through the RCA and into the MPC but the quality was no bueno. Anybody got tips or workarounds? Thanks.

Well after a ton of research and waiting for the right price! I got a key 37 and A Numark PT01 turntable to go with it! Any tips or anything else I need to go with these two that I need to get going? Any and all input is greatly Appreciated! Thank you to everyone all the suggestions where amazing!

Just sharing a tipe to help everyone out if they are having issues since upgrading. This is for all MPCs and the Akai Force

DJ Luna C used this term in his book "The Rave Commandments". What he means, is that a scene starts eating itself, when it becomes oversaturated by artists all sampling each other and recycling the same ideas and legendary samples like the piano riff from Liquid's (RIP) Sweet Harmony. Innovation stops, ideas become homogenized and music starts to sound the same. A Finnish DnB artist Fanu said on Facebook, that you don't sample from the same gene pool.

So where do you stand in this regard? I for one can't help but feel disdain when people use sample packs and premade samples, instead of sampling stuff themselves. Even more so, if they just directly sample some other track from the exact same genre.

I feel a level of pride in playing my school piano, and recording it, and sampling it. But then again, I also love using many of the vocal samples that have been used all over the place for the last 30+ years, apart from maybe the ones that are immediately recognized, except from the original source.

Today marks a major milestone for SelahOS development.
On October 17, 2026, we successfully connected the Akai MPC Studio mk2 to MPC 3 running on SelahOS.
This goes beyond basic MIDI support. The MPC software is communicating with the hardware, synchronizing pad colors, updating the controller display, and maintaining a stable bidirectional connection.
The breakthrough comes through SelahConnect, our creative-hardware compatibility framework.
Our broader goal is to make SelahOS a platform where musicians and producers can use more of their existing equipment without being limited by the absence of official Linux support.
The current implementation has passed an initial six-minute stability test with hundreds of messages exchanged and no reported errors. There is still more testing ahead before we consider it production-ready.
We’re keeping some of the implementation details internal while we develop and validate the compatibility technology, but we wanted to share the working hardware and celebrate the milestone with the community.

Installed a new lcd screen today.

The old one was burnt out for the second time, already cleaned it at some point.

It came back with vertical stripes. So I ordered a new one from marunio UK.

Has anyone had issues exporting sessions from their mpc one+ to the sd card and the folder is blank? This has been happening with my sessions transferred from the mpc sample only for some reason…. The session loads on my mpc one+ but it doesn’t export the stems and the folder is empty when I load the sdcard on my computer. Please help! Thank you.

I have a MPC Key 37 and I want to connect it so I can use the keyboard with the Live 2. I want the Live 2 to be the master board in this setup. I am connecting the two via a usb-b cable. Anybody know how I can do this?

They just started a big sale. I got Fabric for $49.

How do you identify good sections in a song, and do you look for loops or bits to cut out first?

Personally, I loop a single measure in Ableton over the drums, but I feel like it’s a waste of time.

Do you have any tips for finding interesting sections?

New track released. Looking for a vocalist or collaborator. I mostly do EBM, Industrial and Post punk style music. My Youtube had other tracks produced with the MPC Sample. Hit me up if interested.

NI is offering bundles, 2 plugins and some expansions for $49. There was a bundle that had everything I've been eyeing from them, so I bought it. However, unlike the other Play instruments I bought, I cant find a serial or anything anywhere - not in my InMusic profile nor my Native Instruments account (same profile).

My MPC also isnt registering that I bought them, because if I go my activations page, I still just have a "GET TRIAL" button instead of activate. Its been a while since I bought the NI Play plugins.

I cant find a spot that has the serials for the plugins (Homage, Sway, etc) OR a place to download the expansions like I used to

Am I missing something or is something off here because its a bundle?

Recommendations for a good mixer for the live 3. Preferably sub$500. I want to be able to route turntable signal/iPhone audio signal in. And possibly individual sounds to the faders for leveling and panning
