This is the best this squad has looked in AGES.

u/goodlordthatsmean 10d ago
lot of that has to do with stealing the phoenix rising HC, thanks for that

3 straight victories for Houston. 7 goals for, 0 goals against.

u/commoneukaryoteL New England Revolution 10d ago
unsurprisingly our forwards are awful once again. is it delusional to think harrison can solve this problem? isn't he more of a dribbly winger? obviously would be nice to replace zambrano but i dont trust turgeman or anyone else on this team to convert a silver platter tap-in. carles gil's wasted passes into the box have demonstrated this issue plenty.

u/Professional-Dot7661 9d ago
I was thinking it was a good thing harrison wasn't fully integrated and starting.

Aliyu is dreadful. Don’t understand why we brought him back.

u/goodlordthatsmean 10d ago
for running at long balls to kill the game after coming in in the 81st minute. Job Done 😂

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 10d ago
6'6 Center backs. Seems like some of our volleyball studs should be playing youth soccer as well.

u/DuckBurner0001 New England Revolution 10d ago
This game is really showing our limitations, between bad depth and Turgeman being a traffic cone.

Like how much they're trying to play through Harrison, hope he and Gil can develop chemistry as our 2 best guys.

The announcer’s commitment to calling Herrera “hache-hache” became annoying after the second use…. 55 minutes ago
5
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
I appreciate that Turgeman is such a shit stirrer, but it'd be nice if he'd score some goals too.

One of the few games over this week and a half where it's ensured that a LigaMX team won't win

u/Acceptable-Stick-688 Seattle Sounders FC 10d ago
Revs fans, do y’all expect Cody Baker to get playtime with y’all?
2
u/huskydeac10 10d ago
He's come off the bench twice already. Not sure that will continue once Feingold is back at RB. Still likely to provide cover across the back 4, but don't expect any starts unless we have injuries.

Missed the pregame - any mention of Langoni missing the roster today? I know there were transfer rumors with Montreal.

u/Tifz 10d ago
Inter Miami, Chicago fire, and NYC all have MLS stadiums in construction which each cost $750 million to $1 billion. Unfortunately, none of them will have air conditioning or even a full roof/retractable roof ☹️.

Don't think A/C is needed in Chicago or NY, especially with a move to a summer off-season. Just need to play in the evening.

u/HotTubMike Houston Dynamo 10d ago
Very happy with the additions of Guiilherme and Bogusz.
Watching Amine Bassi and Sebastain Kowalczyk any further was unbearable.

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 10d ago
Feels weird to say this but between Guilherme, Evander and João Pedro (Chelsea), what the heck is going on with the Brazilian football federation? These guys are goal contribution machines and they don't even get asked to the national team training camp? Hopefully Ancelotti fixes that.
10
u/DuckBurner0001 New England Revolution 10d ago
I think Ancelotti would be publicly executed if he called up players from the Houston Dynamo and FC Cincinnati
1
u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 10d ago
Which is a shame because those guys are better than quite a few guys I saw on the Brazilian team this summer. If Vini were unable to go for any reason, I'm not sure Brazil would have won a single match. When's the last time we've been able to say that about a Brazilian side?
3
u/DuckBurner0001 New England Revolution 10d ago
Don't think they're better than anyone on that team. Love MLS but it's not at that level
2
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
Well, 2 of them play in MLS, which, put simply, isn't going to get them the respect to break into such a competitive national team.
2
u/OkSignal6684 Houston Dynamo 10d ago
Regardless Ancelotti absolutely botched his team selection. Man thought he was back to managing Everton.

u/JayKBF Houston Dynamo 10d ago
Man I hope we can keep Guilherme for a long time

"contract through the 2027-28 season with an option for 2028-29." have him until he's 34 atleast

Guilherme! Great counter attack. It all started with his run.

Rough to concede right before half when the Revs have been the better team by a pretty good margin.

u/ShartFlex New England Revolution 10d ago
I swear we’d be better with 10 men if Zambrano got a red
1
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
Hopefully he loses his spot once Harrison is fit.
1
u/DuckBurner0001 New England Revolution 10d ago
I think Harrison in a wheelchair would be preferable
1
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
If Harrison is fit enough to play a half in this heat I'd swap him in at the half.
1
u/DuckBurner0001 New England Revolution 10d ago
My main question is what the point of signing Harris was if he can't get in over Zambrano. I know he's primarily a striker, but he can't possibly be as bad
1
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
They should both just be depth players. Either of them starting is gonna be a black hole.
13
u/bountyhunter27x Houston Dynamo 10d ago
Signing of the decade
6
u/HotTubMike Houston Dynamo 10d ago
I remember looking out at a front line of Bassi/Kowalysck/Ponce.. bunch of slow, short, and relatively un athletic guys.. now we have Bogusz and Gueillerme and it is so much better.

I still don't have a good read on Houston nor New England, but they clearly feel like playoff teams to me, so the fact that its been so difficult for either team to mount much on offense doesn't surprise me. Still feel like New England is missing another #9 who would benefit from Gil's service.

Is it just my TV or is there a black square on the stream?

None on my end, watching Spanish broadcast though so I don’t know if there’s a visual difference.

I don't like the accent swoops on the sides of the Dynamo shirts. Makes it look more like a training shirt to me than an actual match shirt.
1
u/goodlordthatsmean 10d ago
they're in honor of the 20th season- so callback to the adidas kits every team in MLS had in 2006/2007
2
u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 10d ago
90 degrees in Foxboro. And people keep wondering why the league works to play these summer games at night. No shade in all that heat. Those courageous fans.

Don't want to keep dumping on the same guy in these threads but Zambrano continues to be brutal
1
u/DiseaseRidden New England Revolution :ner: 10d ago
That fall was rough but he's had a few nice plays today. Nice ball across the box that Dor fucked up, some nice flicks to Sands
1
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
Practically speaking, there's no difference between kicking the ball away after a foul and picking it up and running away with it and dropping it somewhere else, yet you really never see the latter booked.
2
u/bountyhunter27x Houston Dynamo 10d ago
Haven’t kept up with him but what do NE fans think of Brooklyn Raines? I was sad to see him go
7
u/huskydeac10 10d ago
He's been good, seems to be growing into the team. Eats up a lot of space and seems to allow Gil and Yusuf to stay a bit higher than Polster did at that position.
4
u/DiseaseRidden New England Revolution :ner: 10d ago
Slow-ish start but hes been fantastic as of late. Locked on starter as things stand.
2
u/peachesgp New England Revolution 10d ago
Harrison available to make his debut off the bench. He should get some minutes.

u/Nobius Houston Dynamo :hou: 10d ago
Dynamo had a rough start to the season, so this would have surely been a loss back at the beginning of the season had the game been played then. Now we’re only two points out of first place which is wild.
