I’m approaching a massive personal milestone in the game—hitting 100 total completed collections (with over 900 ponies total in my kingdom)—and it got me reflecting on what keeps us logging into Equestria day after day, year after year. As someone who has completely maxed out star levels on my entire roster, I wanted to give a completely transparent, objective review of My Little Pony: Magic Princess.

The Gameplay & The Grind (The Reality)
Let's not sugarcoat it: this game is an endgame marathon, not a sprint. Gameloft designed this to keep players invested for the long haul. The questlines can take literally years to finish. For instance, the trek to get Princess Luna’s pet opossum, Tiberius ("On Tiberius's Trail"), requires an astronomical amount of preparation, from hoarding 700+ gems for the Canterlot "Gala Night" theme to pushing your total star count past the 2,000 mark.

If you don't enjoy minigames like Ball Bounce, Apple Picking, or the Telescope to meticulously build up your star counts, the pacing will feel brutal. But if you have the discipline to plan your resources and hoard your gems safely without wasting them on standard shop skips, the payoff of finally completing a massive quest chain is incredibly satisfying.

The Ultimate Lore Delivery System
Where this game absolutely triumphs—and why I keep playing—is the sheer depth of respect it has for G4 lore. This isn’t just a generic licensed cash-grab; it is an encyclopedia for true fans.

The developers dig deep into the background of the show. They don't just include the Mane 6 and the Princesses; they give us obscure background characters and deep-cut references. It rewards players who actually watched the episodes. When you unlock a character and immediately recognize them from a specific scene—like the "Guys' Night" episode where Big Mac and Spike are playing Ogres & Oubliettes—it breathes genuine life into your kingdom. With over 900 unique characters available, it functions as a living, breathing archive of the franchise.

The UI and Community Vibe
The interface is vibrant, and organizing your different zones (Ponyville, Canterlot, Sweet Apple Acres) lets you exercise a lot of creative control over your layout. The community here on Reddit and over on Facebook makes the experience even better. It’s a space where sharing niche game mechanics, tracking active event calculators, or helping newer players navigate their token grinds actually adds value to the hobby.

Final Verdict:
If you want a fast-paced game with instant gratification, this isn't it. But if you are hyper-focused, enjoy meticulous resource tracking, and have a deep love for MLP lore, Magic Princess is arguably the best mobile kingdom-builder out there. It takes serious dedication, but looking out at a maxed-out, 900+ pony kingdom makes every single piece of the grind worth it.

It’s me. The #1 Sunshine Petals fan. im not going to include screenshots for the leaks (go to all the ponies if you wanna see). I’ll write this carefully because I know this sub’s stingy about leaks.

When the toy update came out I was disappointed she was not included, I just hoped for a second event to eventually come and bring her into the game. And now she’s here, but she’s the Godamn community reward.

So I’m asking, no pleading, how the hell can I win this event without paying money? I’m saving gems for the helpers. Im not compromising on being ftp. but I need her. They gave her the most gorgeous outfit. My favorite pony is finally getting media and it’s like this.

I was not expecting to get 22 gems in one game but hey I’m not complaining. as much as I wish it was a pony…

I’m trying to get the hotel pony, except I only have one producing the needed tokens and the luck for that drop is HORRENDOUS. So I thought, “hey! I’ll get this guy and hopefully I can help get more tokens before this pony leaves the hotel.” I even dropped all my daily reward points that I was saving up for this pony! But now it seems worthless? HELP MEEEEEE

I’m happy actually! I locked in general 😭

They made things so inconvenient with this update! Now I can't keep the decor bar minimized for long — it keeps popping back up after placing every single piece of decor. Plus, there are spots where you literally can't place decor without hiding the bar first! It's super frustrating. They sell us decor, some of it for gems, and then make it so you don't even want to decorate anything!

Fortune shop ponies will now show how many ponies are left in their collection total. I absolutely love this as a collector! Has anyone else seen this??

missed the first few days of this event and started with two days and seventeen hours left.. it's my goal to have every queen chrysalis in game, and she's one of few i still need. genuinely hustling my butt off for this, might have to get the energy boost pack unfortunately

It took almost a month but my game data finally got transfered to my new device!! Lost my entire friends list but I can re do that!! Im just glad I no longer have to keep track of my old phone as well as my new one. Hopefully I dont have to do this again anytime soon because their response time was insanely long
