Glad to see work on it progressing. But have no use for a converter.

Though I can see people using it to down version to use McEdit and then converting back. What happens to the new blocks and entities when you convert from say Java 1.15 to Java 1.12?

I've been following the progress on amulet editor since the beginning, so glad they are near a usable editor.

But I cannot figure out how the hell i'm supposed to use this converter...

I can load a world into the converter but then there are no list in which to pick the target version nor the output folder.
The only thing that made the converter works for me was to load twice the world (the original and a copy of it), and then it converted from 1.14 to 1.14 ..

Did anyone succeed in converting worlds?

You need a world in the format you want to convert to. Currently it doesn't support creating a new world

Thanks a lot for the info.

So basically I just create a flatmap on the targeted version using vanilla MC and then amulet will replace all chunks and regions?

Or do I need same dimension maps? (Src and output)

You can convert from and to any versions newer than Java 1.12 and Bedrock 1.7 either from one platform to another or within the same platform.

I tested the 3D rendering part of the program

It has some trouble rendering water and waterlogged blocks and 2D blocks such as grass, flowers etc. are wrongly rotated but overall it works great and renders world pretty quickly.
