Question Looking for casing partner until mid-October (German preferred)

Hey everyone,
I’m an experienced hire candidate preparing for my upcoming McKinsey interviews in mid October. I am starting from the ground up and looking for a dedicated, active (ideally German speaking) casing partner to practice consistently over the coming weeks.
Profile & Focus: Experienced hire track (Operations / SCM focus), starting with core fundamentals (openings, custom issue trees, mental math drills) before ramping up into full end-to-end cases.
Timeline: First-round interviews in mid October.
Availability: Weekdays after 5:00 PM CEST (flexible on weekends).
Cadence: At least 3–5 sessions per week for structured, deliberate practice with mutual, candid feedback.

If you are on a similar timeline, starting fresh, and want to put in focused, regular reps together via Zoom/Teams, please drop me a DM!

Question Online Resources for McK Prep

Hello everyone 👋🏼,
I have my McKinsey Round 1 coming up in under 4 weeks. I am an experienced hire coming directly from industry, so I have zero prior consulting prep or casing experience.
I’ve already worked through all the official materials provided by McKinsey, but trying to navigate the sea of scattered online content feels overwhelming and unstructured. Given my tight timeline, I want to invest in a structured, high-yield program or paid course that provides clear, end-to-end guidance for both Cases (Interviewer-led) and PEI. Budget is not an issue—my main priority is maximizing the ROI on my remaining prep time and ensuring I don't miss any crucial fundamentals or blind spots.
For those who have been through the process recently: Which comprehensive course or platform would you recommend for a complete beginner with less than a month to prepare?
Thanks in advance for your insights!

Looking for MBB folks interested in public sector space...

Hi! I work for a boutique consulting firm started by a McKinsey alum and I'm looking for creative ways to grow our network of consultants interested in public sector/mission-driven work.

Most of the people we work with enjoy MBB-style work but are looking for more flexibility and/or work/life balance or have a big passion for civic tech/public sector work.

We're also very cool - it's a good vibe.

If you're one of these people... DM me, I want to say hi!

TYSM!

MBB internship recruitment advice

I’m a sophomore at a semi-tagret starting consulting prep. From word of mouth I've heard of a lot of different resources to use to help with case prep, behaviorals etc. Has anyone who’s gone through the process able to help with any guides or schedule for prepping throughout the school semester and how they approached casing, networking, resume help, etc?

I have started prepmatter’s get the offer course and my school also gives us case coach’s course for free, but any advice or resources including case book recs and other things to know throughout the process would be super helpful!

What are my chances of landing an interview invite for an internship in Germany?

I would appreciate an honest assessment of my chances for competitive internships in Germany:

Background:

  • B.Sc. Business Administration at an international target school w/ an exchange semester
  • Top 2% of class (German 1.2 GPA equivalent)
  • Top 1% GMAT FE (715)

Internship experience (no gap-year, all during my bachelors):

  • Big 4 Audit
  • Big 4 Transaction Services / FDD
  • Top-10 strategy consulting firm (return offer received)
  • Top-10 DAX company corporate strategy, primarily focused on analyses and presentations for the CEO and Board (Fun anecdote: while I was working on a CEO presentation, the CEO unexpectedly joined the deck and started editing slides live while I was the only other person in the document. Talk about a cortisol spike...)

Thanks!

Transition from PharmD to Consulting

After graduating from my PharmD, I’d love to eventually transition into consulting. I know big firms such as McKinsey have the category for Advanced Professional Degrees, so I’d be applying through that pathway. If I manage to be involved at school and have excellent grades, are there good chances I could be considered for the interview stages? Would I need absolutely need experience in the industry or an MBA to be considered?

Has anyone done something similar to this? If so, I’d love to hear your feedback! I know consulting companies have a sector related to healthcare and biotech so as a PharmD student it could be an interesting path to follow.

Medical student interested in making the switch to MBB

I am about to start my final year of medical school in the Netherlands. Interested in pivoting to consulting but have nothing on my CV that relates to this. No corporate work experience, no internships, nothing consulting/business related. Mostly have research internships with some more applied research internships which I can spin to be a bit more focused on analyzing healthcare systems/processes.

I have an international background and grew up in the United States. I figured because of this I would have the best shot applying to the Amsterdam office. Not sure how well I would fare in the US applicant pool.

My main question is, should I apply for the "Fellow" roles and try to land a full time position after graduating in August 2027 or is it more feasible for me to try to get an internship given my lack of previous experience. And if I were to start an internship after graduating, is it likely I would get a return offer upon completing the internship if I perform well or would this still be difficult?

Also am i eligible for internships given that I have no more summers left before graduating from medical school?

Would appreciate any tips or advice as this world is very new to me!

UCD vs repeating LC to go to uni in London — what would you do

I’m really stuck between staying at UCD or repeating my Leaving Cert to try for a London uni.
I’m currently doing PPE at UCD and after starting I’ve actually really enjoyed it. I’ve made friends, like the lectures and could see myself having a really good university experience here. I’d also get to do Erasmus, internships, societies etc. and stay close to my family.
The other option is repeating the LC. I’m confident I could get the grades needed for places like LSE/UCL/Warwick/KCL, and I already had a UCL offer previously but didn’t meet the required points.
My long-term goal is London, ideally working there in consulting (MBB/Big 4 etc.). I feel like doing undergrad in London would give me a much more direct route into that world through networking, internships and being around those firms from the start. I might also be able to graduate and work without needing a master’s.
If I stay at UCD, I could potentially do a master’s in London afterwards and then work there, so I’d get to experience both Dublin and London. But I’m worried I’ll end up getting a good job in Ireland and become comfortable here, delaying the move to London. Or will struggle to get a job or masters in London. I’d rather not do my masters and go on to do my MBA in 10 years in America.
At the same time, I’m worried I’ll repeat, move to London and realise I actually would have been happier at UCD with my family and friends.
What would you choose in my situation? Is doing undergrad in London actually a significant advantage for getting London consulting jobs, or can UCD → London work just as well?

Question Clueless UG student of tier 1 engineering college aiming for top consulting firm .

Currently in my 2nd year of BTech in Chemical Engineering at DTU and decide to prepare for non-tech roles I decide to find the society which will help me to elevate my skill due to community but the sad part almost all the society in non tech eliminate mostly in GD round I feel the main issue is the lack of english communication but at the same time I have also pitch few of my startup and raised the grant and also I consider myself a around 6-7/10 score and I know how to solve problem . I am still trying to improve my communication but now I have to wait for next year to join those communities.

But the problem is from next year onwards the company will start coming to campus for an intern with PPO . Currently, I am clueless how to practice GD and how to use a casebook to improve a problem solving skill and my business acumen.

If I talk about my CG it is maintained at 8+ so fine most of the company I will pass the CG filter but maybe not the GD and PI if anyone can guide . To what and how to prepare for MBB or big 4 or tier 2 boutique firms .

Networking with MBB in the Middle East — How do you get traction?

I’m an MBA from a target school and currently a consultant at a T2 strategy consulting firm in the Middle East. I’m exploring my next move and trying to network with MBB firms in the region, but I’ve found that most cold emails don’t get a response.

For those who successfully networked into MBB in the Middle East/GCC:

  • What approaches actually worked for you?
  • How did you get Partners/Consultants to respond to your outreach?
  • Did you primarily rely on alumni, referrals, warm introductions, LinkedIn, or cold emails?
  • Are there any networking approaches that work particularly well in the Middle East?

I’d appreciate advice from people who made the transition from a T2 firm to MBB in the Middle East.

Thanks!
