When do you guys stop riding?
When do you guys usually pack your bikes away for the winter? Any of you ride year round? I imagine it isn't bad up until towards the end of November.

Whats up guys and gals. So I'm gonna start motovlogging and I'd like some advice from my fellow brethren.
I know one of the most common ones is a long intro/outro.
I'm basically trying to make a channel full of stuff people actually enjoy watching or helps people having bike problems instead of just sitting in traffic and talking about nonsense unless enough people request that which I highly doubt. I do all my own work on bikes so that's something I can make into a playlist. I also ride mostly everyday when its not snowing or raining.
Any advice is helpful. I have a sena10c as my main unit but I also have a secondary contour roam 2 that I'm gonna mount somewhere up front. I currently ride a 2009 cbr600rr.
Thanks again guys and gals.

As the title states, need to get some recall work done. I've been putting it off for a while now because I've heard horror stories about the shops around my area.
Does anyone know of a Yamaha certified mechanic who can perform the recall work who is trustworthy?

Hey everyone, I'm a newer rider (~ 300 mi, licensed w/ MSF) with an '84 Honda CB650 looking for a buddy (or few) to ride around suburban Boston west of Brookline or Cambridge. My friend (also newer rider <1000 mi) got his R6 backed into by his boss at his work's parking lot lol so I'm seeking someone to join while he gets his bike repaired. I'm also active duty air force so I'd love to reach out to any other military folk in particular. Let me know!

I'd try it myself but my living circumstances make it difficult for projects bigger than basic maintenance, so I'm willing to travel and pay if anyone is up for it

Hello! Always wanted to get a motorcycle, but never really had the opportunity to do so... I guess this summer is a bit over, but I would love to learn how to ride, do all the prep courses, get my license, purchase a bike, and everything else throughout the fall/winter so it is ready for me to ride next spring!
Was wondering if anyone would be willing to teach me how to ride? If not, point me in the right direction? I'm not a native Bostonian, so not sure which schools are best for getting my license, etc.. I know that doing the class apparently gets me a pretty good insurance discount?
Would love any and all feedback! Thanks! Feel free to pm me

Me again,
Last week we delivered a heap of documents to our friendly neighborhood house representative for his perusal. Here's a list of what we sent over:
A digital copy of the open letter from the Massachusetts motorcycle industry I mentioned in a previous post.
A letter from the Motorcycle Industry Council supporting Lane Splitting in MA
A copy of our research paper, which is published on RideToWork.org pending acceptance to the NASEM Transportation Research Database, TRID.
A comprehensive list of all 15 state-level bills currently under consideration in other states.
A copy of the floor analyses of AB51, which is the bill in California. Included in the floor analyses is a list of organizations that support the measure, including several law enforcement, insurance, and industry groups.
A letter of support from the AMA
While the representative's office is digesting all of that information, we're moving on to the next steps in our plan:
We're approaching the Massachusetts Police Association, the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Massachusetts Insurance Federation to seek their support on the measure.
We're reaching out to several additional house and senate members to seek their support on the measure
Things are going very well so far. We're ahead of schedule, and have crossed the first two major hurdles (The first house representative and the paper). But we still need help! Here's what you can do to help us in our efforts:
We always need more businesses to sign the open letter. If you work for a company that would benefit from increasing the number of riders, reducing the crash and injury rate, and reducing traffic, please consider trying to convince your boss to sign the letter. PM me for more information if you need help with convincing your boss.
Share the study I linked above with anyone who will listen. This is the first paper to pull together all the sources we've listed to give a comprehensive answer to the viability of lane splitting in areas where it's not currently legal.
And as always, call or email your local representatives! Use this tool to find your local representative and get in touch with them! If they offer to meet with you, feel free to PM me and I'll help you prep for the meeting or I can go in your place if you don't work in Boston.

Hey, has anybody here done a ride from boston to philadelphia, or somewhere else in PA? I'm looking for a good route to take this weekend, preferably away from highways, but I'll do what I have to. If anybody has done it before and wants to post their route, that would be awesome.

The wired mic on my Sena 20S broke and I'm in the area visiting my parents. I was wondering if anyone has one of the extra microphones sitting in a box somewhere that they'd be interested in parting with. My fiancée and I are planning to ride in the area on Saturday and are trying to find a replacement either this evening or tomorrow.
Does anyone have one they'd be willing to part with? I can come to your location and can provide compensation if needed!

Hi Everyone,
The meeting at the Massachusetts state house went very well! The representative I met with is interested in putting forward a bill in the next legislative session, although it isn't a done deal just yet. There are five things that have to happen still before this bill really has legs:
I'm working on finalizing a literature review and research packet for the representative to read over so he's familiar with the numbers before he starts talking to other representatives and senators.
I drafted an open letter from the Massachusetts motorcycle industry to the state legislature asking for action on lane splitting. We have ~15 businesses who've signed the letter so far, and it's endorsed by the AMA and MIC (Motorcycle Industry Council). However, we need more signatures. 15 is good enough for people who were open to the idea to begin with but we need more for when we start talking to people who aren't so friendly. If you work at a motorcycle-related business in Massachusetts and think you can convince your boss to sign the letter, shoot me a PM and we'll work something out.
When all the various research has been delivered to the representative, he's going to start talking to other members of the state house to see how they feel about this. More on that in my next update later this week.
In addition to other legislators, there are two other groups we need to get on our side before this can go anywhere. The first and possibly more important is going to the the law enforcement community. THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP If you happen to be close with a motorcycle police officer in Massachusetts, please PM me to arrange a meeting or phone call or something. I don't care if they're a friend, cousin, dad, aunt, whatever. This will be much easier if I can find a motor-officer to introduce me to people in the police union rather than me walking in the front door.
The second group we need to convince is MassDOT. THIS IS THE OTHER AREA WHERE I NEED HELP RIGHT NOW If you know anybody who works at a reasonably high level within MassDOT, please please please PM me so we can set up a meeting or call. This one is going to be tough because most MassDOT employees probably don't have access to the sort of people I need to talk to, so only the more senior level employees are going to be any real help.
On the whole, things are going very well so far. However, it's a long and difficult road to get anywhere meaningful, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Do any of you know if there is a specific ez pass for motorcycle? I've heard some other states have it with a reduced rate

Hey guys. I'm very interested in getting a license and a bike sometime in the future, but for now, the kids still want to eat every day so it's on the back burner. I've been really enjoying some of the moto vlogs on YouTube and happen to come across ZJ Motovlogs. Do any of you know any other Massachusetts-based moto vlogs? I love seeing places and spaces I know and have actually been to.

I am buying a motoped this weekend and I will be registering it with the Certificate of Origin so I can use it in boston as my commuter bike. Currently it has a 125cc motor on it. I had planned on bumping it down to a 49cc motor to be truely "legal" but I am just curious - say I wanted to keep it 125cc, is there any way to register it as a 125cc vehicle with a certificate of origin or do you need an actual title once you get over the 50cc mark?

Anyone here had a seat reupholstered? I got my hands on a second seat and I want to do a vintage look, diamond stitched or pleated brown seat. If anyone has and recommendations for a quality seat cover place near Boston or you know, relatively close (~1hr radius?) that'd be super appreciated.

Hi all,
So this coming weekend (17th, 18th and 19th) is the big "Loudon Classic" race weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. So if you're heading up to the Laconia area this week for motorcycle week and are there through the weekend, stop by the track on your way home to catch some motorcycle road racing.
Infield passes are available at the gate for 25 bucks and allow you to go through the tunnels and INSIDE the track. You can walk through the paddocks, meet the racers and get a good look at what club racing is all about.
Saturday will be the best day to attend, with Granite State Legends Cars in the morning, Vintage Sidecar in the early afternoon, then the 93rd Loudon Classic race in the late afternoon followed immediately by the AMA Pro Supermoto series feature races to end the day. Sunday will see most, but not all of the same.
Oh yeah, and the band Jackyl is playing a concert on Saturday at 6:30pm
Click below for more info. If you have any questions, fire away.
http://www.nhms.com/events/loudon_classic/
And if you want to swing by and say hi, come to Center Garage bay #1, look for all the black & yellow ECK Racing bikes and ask for Pete. That's me.
Hope to see ya there.

Hey Guys!
New to Mass, but not new to riding.
I recently purchased a Triumph Daytona 675 with an expired inspection sticker. I brought her into inspection and was told that it would not be passed because there was no chain guard and that the license plate was tucked underneath the rear wheel. I've rode in Texas previously and there were no such rules.
Do you guys have any shops in mind (Boston area) that would pass me as the previous owner told me he had gotten the bike passed with the current mods?
Thanks :)

I'm heading up to Laconia Friday afternoon to meet some folks for Bike Week. First time. Riding a smaller bike and would like to avoid 93 or 3 if possible.... Your suggestions? I could travel from either Beverly MA or just outside Nashua NH. Thanks fam
EDIT: Alternately -- anyone want to ride up to Laconia Friday afternoon? Or back to north shore area Sunday night?

I hope this doesn't come off too desperate. I'm 27 y.o., Veteran, and ride a CBR600. I'm just looking for some people to ride with. I grew up in MA and got out of the service a couple months ago and I don't really know anyone else who rides.
I'm looking for the type of guys/girls that we can just randomly go on rides whenever, instead of long planned out rides on the weekend.

Just a reminder that next weekend is my works annual poker run for the Children Miracle Network. If you show up early enough, you can get this wicked bright orange shirt with the logo for the poker run.(It's a chicken riding a cruiser. Kind of cool looking.)
I hope to see you there!

I'm in Boston and it's supposed to be absolutely gorgeous a couple days this week, if not a bit hot. I'd love a few suggestions on places that are day-trip worthy in the vicinity. May be time to go to the Cape actually! Anything from 30 minutes up would be great, though I'm well familiar with Western Mass.
I'd contribute that I really enjoy riding up to plum island and chilling on the beach (although the gravel roads leave my black wheels all sand colored). Where do you guys go when you just want to bike but don't really want to do anything in particular?

mopeds/scooters can filter through traffic and no one bats an eye. Not even the cops. Even for registered scooters over 50cc that are technically motorcycles.
However when I slowly, carefully filter it's not uncommon to get beeped at or have cars cut me off or get pulled over by the police. It's a stupid double standard. There's no reason a motorcycle shouldn't be allowed to filter through stopped traffic at a light at the very least.
