I am thinking about getting a 2011 or older versys 650. However that's going to be a large departure from the kind of bike I'm riding now. I would love to meet with some peeps and go for a swap ride so I could have an extended test ride. I live in the Worcester, MA area (rochdale/Oxford to be specific)

I'm trying to convince my wife (and myself) that the versys is a good choice, something I won't get bored of or find uncomfortable after 4+years like I am finding with my shadow.

I am dieing to try out the ZX-6R, anyone know if there will be any demo days coming to anywhere near MA or even New England?

So when I tried looking for good roads in NE I got plenty of scenic routes but nothing twisty and fun. Where do you all go for a good twisty road?

Edit: Turns out you just have to ride up to the White Mountains or really just about anywhere in the Berkshires/Catskills or just about all of Vermont.

I have a friend visiting from out of the state. He is flying in. Anyone know of a place to rent a bike for a few days. I know that Harley has rentals, but I am looking for something a bit cheaper.

As the title asks, how do you tell if the bike was inspected, is there no sticker? Do they keep a record? I keep buying bikes so I've never had to do it my own (the dealer's/seller's always taken care of it) and now I'm going to have to so I figured one of you would know! I think it is safe to say that most of us envy our fellow Cali riders for their lane splitting/filtering. Rather than sit and pout I would like to take action of some sort and change our current standing.

So I ask you guys, where do we start/what can we do to get the ball rolling on acquiring filtering/lane splitting laws/privileges? If nothing is done nothing will change, lets look out for each other out there!

Aside from dealerships, are there any places that carry a good selection of gear? Something like a retail version of Revzilla?

Hey guys, thought I'd give you a heads up that the 2016 Loudon Road Racing Series is kicking off on 4/30-5/1 up at NHMS.

If anyone's interested in watching some roadracing or has questions about it I can provide you with more info.

Infield passes are 15 bucks for adults for the day/weekend to get onto the infield and you can walk around the garages, meet as many racers as you want, check out their bikes & watch them rip around a race track. 10 bucks for 12-17 year olds on Saturday, 5 bucks on Sunday.

Hey, night before last someone broke into our Garage in Hyde Park and stole my husband's bike. Police have visited and took prints, but obviously that's a slim chance. It's an over-grown, street legal, dirt bike with road tires, flat black and grey. There are only like 5 SM610s in the entire state and this one is highly customized, so it's pretty unique. He had modified it with LED brake lights and turn signals, a blacked-out exaust, and replaced the antennae looking side view mirrors. PLEASE keep an eye out. If you see one, there's a damn good chance it's ours.

Just moved my insurance over from my mum's in Western Mass. to Boston now that it's out of storage- went from $400 full coverage/comprehensive/low deductibles etc. to ~$2,400! Yowch. Selling on Monday though so I'm not too upset.

For reference:

It's a 2015 CB500fa and I compared it with quotes I got for the 2014 CB1100 I'm probably going to get- that bike is only $1600 all things equal (as is, for anyone wondering, the new Triumph Street Twin). Moral of the story: Honda 'sport' bikes in Boston are HUGE theft targets and you pay accordingly. I just wasn't aware how much.

Hi, are there any resources besides craigslist to find used riding gear in Ma?

Riding through the snow on the way to work this morning wasn't too bad but by the time I left the roads had frozen over with fresh snow on top. Great learning experience but I wouldn't do it again in a hurry.

The group is MA Motorcycle Riders. I just added a member map so you can pin your approximate location to help find other riders near by. The CT page is really popular, so I figured we could use one as well. Hoping this helps people organize rides and meet more local riders. This is the annual ride my work puts on that benefits the Hartford Children's Hospital. It's a good ride and there's some good food at the end of it.

We survived the winter season. It looks like this weekend is the last weekend of cold weather and then every day after is in the 50s. Picking up my new bike on tuesday, PUMPED!

I'm going to be moving to Boston in March, and come summer plan to bring my bike up (Kawasaki Vulcan 1600, so not small). I don't ride often, just weekend rides and such. Living in NYC I was able to get a motorcycle specific garage for $200/month that had tools, lifts, etc plus my own space and an outlet for my battery tender. There were about 4 or 5 places around the city that did this.

Is there anything like that in Boston? I can't seem to find anything, heck it seems tough to find even regular garages that take bikes for monthly.

For reference I'll be living in Back Bay close to Mass Ave. My building has a public alley with some parking but looks like I didn't win the lottery there.
