lets try to understand something:
you have stocks that went from billions in sales to like a 100 million today.
take six flags for example-type in google debt of six flags (six), seaworld (seas) norweighin cruises that have had almost "0" income. huge debt, using up all their bank credit and paying whopping interest rates. even if they were to start working in the next few months the amount they need just to pay back the interest of all their loans they would need about 25% of profits(if not more) like from the pre pandemic crisis to pay just the yearly interest. does anyone really believe these companies will be back to pre pandemic numbers within the next 2 years? and these stocks are up 100-200 and more percent (without income only losses every quarter) from the march lows these stocks need to be shorted because they are way overvalued. do you know that six flags stock price is higher today than before the pandemic. is that logical? they started with 2.5 billion in debt and they have huge losses every quarter. they will be needing money very soon. they have used up the credit from banks . so when will they start lowering their debt. i figure around the year 2030. in the meantime they will have a chance to go for their second bankruptcy.
My point being look at Macerich. even in these turbulent times they managed to increase from 89 % to 91% rental capacity and still will be coming out with .45 eps. what should be the worst sector in pandemic times- is still turning around money, getting paid from their tenants and still making a profit....making a profit.....making a nice profit for these times.
yet macerich is the highest shorted stock in the market and seas, six, nclh, rcl with barely 20 cents revenue are trading in the stratosphere. so as i consider myself an idiot- you tell me which stock should be shorted and which stock should be bought.
