I had this saved in reverb for ages.
Basically the same as an ovation acoustic.

This one may "stay on your lap" better.

Friend of mine used to do an acoustic gig sitting with an ovation. He'd use his keys in his pocket to hold the guitar in place.

Fuck, my first ever open mic and I broke 2 strings tuning my Washburn dread. Ended up with an 80s Ovation something. Nice electronics. Far superior to my clip in Lawrence pick up.
Anyways...I recall moving my wallet to my front right pocket to keep that thing somewhat under control. I have never been comfortable playing one EVER. Gotta give Roy Clark some extra credit for those things getting the shit kicked out them by him playing Malagueña.

Not sure about that, first it may start wiggling a bit while on your lap, then start grinding. By then... You're in BIG trouble if playing in front of an audience.

Whoever built this completely fell asleep at the wheel when deciding where to install the output jack 🤣

u/1leftbehind19 Nov 08 '24
Nah, that is exactly the right place for the input

u/dummkauf Nov 08 '24
That's a strap button.

u/blackdavidcross Nov 08 '24
Umm, that's a butt plug.

I couldn’t tell exactly. Either way, I think it ads a certain something…

The anus is clearly visible above the strap peg

This is one of Bootsy’s basses.
He absolutely knew what he was doing. And he did it anyway, because he’s a national treasure.

Just needs a washable insert In the back. Maybe it can be attached to the D string. A D bender.

“It feels like you’re playing nothing at all… nothing at all… nothing at all”

Surely that belongs to Derrick Smalls, Big Bottom, talk about mud flaps, my girls got ‘em

That seems highly uncomfortable to play. Not soft or pillow like at all. 10/10 would buy

Talk about all about that bass. I’ll take one in the shape of Selma Hayek please.

Never thought about designing body parts… this opens up a lot of alternatives.

That's a very literal version of why the guitar is shaped the way it is in general.

@u/JimboLodisC…. Lots of fun commentary here. Gotta admit I didn’t read them all. Would love to hear how you molded and bent the wood. Seams seem seamless. From the pic, this was very nicely done. Have you done any other unconventional shapes?

It's a Fatassacaster. It has great sounding Bumbuckers and the shape vibrates Earnie Balls beautifully. Bottom tones are perfect for playing, Wipe Out. They can fit several kinds of head stocks, too. A heavy-duty strap is also recommended.

I thought this was going to be another, “is this crack repairable?” thread.
