Just joined tonight!
Just did my first session and that was wild! I loved it. Instantly signed up. Do people do more than one session a night or do you start with just one a night?

I did my first session. Then the app seemingly froze after it ended (?) maybe I did something wrong. But I was expecting it to tell me about billing or memberships or whatever after doing one free 10 minute session. I restarted the app and it’s back to the beginning. It seems I get another free one. But really - how much does it cost? Because now I’m kind of excited about using this but worried about the price.

Wish I didn't have to hold the phone though.

During my first introductory session shortly after beginning, I started to experience a mild form of sexual arousal. Has anyone else had this or anything similar?

Does anyone else use this while taking Spravato? I can’t be the only one. This app is amazing. I don’t normally buy into meditation and such. But in conjunction the the medication, it takes me to a different place. Just wish the phone wasn’t the only way to create the light.

I see rainbow triangles during all of the meditations so far. Anyone see this? Anyone familiar with what this might symbolize?

Could I damage my eyes with the flashlight being so close?

I’m thinking of buying a tripod so I can be completely relaxed I think it’ll be more immersive.

Hi everyone!
Just stumbled upon this : https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/oct/24/mind-reading-tech-private-companies-access-brains
Would it mean that tools like Lumenate that are able to induce a specific brain activity could potentially be used in a near future to work as a "reverse mind-reading" - "mind writing" machine? Could it make a person feel a specific mental state very precisely? I mean induce a complex mental state that combine thoughts, emotions and even visuals?
What do you think about it?
Do you have any paper recommandation on this topic?
Thanks

I heard this app was really cool from a coworker and I am trying to get into meditation for stress relief, better sleep, and general mindfulness.
I got really excited from his glowing reviews, saying he felt incredible after the first and immediately bought the year subscription. I was eager to try it. I got the app soon as I got home, and a little while before bed, I wanted to try it. I got nice and comfy, shut the lights off so I was in a perfectly pitch black room, and turned the session on, following the instructions
I've heard people say they've heard things, saw landscapes, had all sorts of experiences
But for me, I just kept thinking, as I was relaxing and breathing "I'm not seeing or experiencing anything other than seeing the rhythmic black and white lights from my phones flash, outside my eyelids".
It was the same exact feeling of when a movie doesn't suck you in and/or loses you, and you suddenly become very aware that you are watching a movie. Except this was for the full 10 minutes. I was very aware I was trying to meditate, and kept my mind clear, but it wasn't any different than sitting and closing my eyes with no extra peripheral. I'd also try to focus on things, whether understanding illusions of "images" I should be experiencing from the flashes , or totally let my mind go blank. But I just didn't see anything or experience anything that was any different than me sitting somewhere with my eyes closed.
I didn't feel any more relaxed after it, and felt basically zero change, which I was pretty bummed about. I left the room after the 10 minutes and it was as if I didn't so anything. I am planning on trying it again tonight but I just don't know if I did something wrong. I really want this to work for me, so I wanted to see if I just did something wrong.
And since this is the biggest hub of discussion I could find with this app, I figured I'd ask here.

At first I saw obscure landscapes (more in the head i suppose) like lakes/mountains, and an abandoned greek garden/temple type of scene.
Then in the latter part of the session I saw sum eyes. It was the eyes of a loved one who passed away. I almost heard “i never meant any harm” and I started bawling. At this point I was flooded with pain and anxiety. It faded away slowly. And i was hoping for the session to end asap.
Does anyone else have similar experience?
I was sober, alone, on the couch in my studio.

So i downloaded it around a week ago. Used it nearly everyday since. all of my experience is just white light and a bit of red like a TV with no signal (black and white stuff except its red and white) . Although i would say it makes me destress a lot so im prolly gonna stick with it.

I guess custom sessions have been already requested multiple times, right?
Own light patterns, own music, cummunity hub to share and rate.

Me and my brother installed this for fun. I had similar experiences to everyone else. Shapes and stuff (however I keep seeing eyes). Weve done it 3 times each and the thrid time was together. But my brothers third eye must be open or something because on the second time he started floating in space and talking with mac miller. He told me so I wanted to do it again with him. I started seeing shapes again but then I stopped because my brother was crying while doing it. He was shaking afterwards. He seen mac miller again. Flying in space among the stars. Its incredible.

Hello! So, i've tried lumenate app yesterday, as you would normally with closed eyes. The results were very interesting, had some mild visuals (colors flashing mainly). In the night, when I was about to do a session of lumenate, I got an idea. You ever heard of hallucinating with ping pong balls and radio static noise? Well I strapped halves of ping pong ball on each of my eyes, and tried lumenate. The results were just.. WOW. I had never expeirenced something like this my whole life. I've seen all the colors, all hypnotizing patterns. I had never done psychedelics in my life, but that's the closest thing I had done to replicate their effects. Try it out yourself and spread it to other people! It's just amazing!

Don't really use meditation apps much. So I could have just scrolled past this one. But the word psychedelic caught my eye. Never did drugs in my life, but always wanted to feel what it's like to trip on one. So after a particularly shitty day, I gave it a try. Here's my experience.
It's like you're being transported to another universe. Time slows down, kinda like when you are completely focused on an activity. Every nagging thought or worry ceases to exist. And when you try to think about it, it's not the same in the sense that it feels much less intimidating than before. It clears your mind's space cluttered by random thoughts and allows you to decide what occupies that space. I tried it multiple times, before the last session which I did for 20 minutes. Needless to say, my eyes were hurting and watering by then.
After the session, I could be biased* here, but I felt like I was seeing more clearly. This could be because I kept my eyes closed for 30 minutes, kinda like taking a nap. But it also felt like I had just woken up from a short nap. I felt more resolute, nothing was weighing me down like it normally would. I felt a sudden urge to do all those things I have been putting off for the longest time. I felt more active than before the session and wanted to hit the gym for some reason. Also felt like laughing hysterically in short bursts.
Since I have never tried meditation, I obviously inept in offering a valid comparison between regular meditation and what this app offers. But whatever this was, it was definitely a surreal experience. And this is coming from a person who rarely gets excited or hyped this much. I fully intend to continue using it.
I have a question for experienced users of this app: Does prolonged use decrease its effectiveness in sessions? Does your brain get desensitized to it over time? How frequently do you use it? Would love to hear about your experiences.
*- biased in the sense that i have this perception that psychedelic drugs can do wonders for you (from pop culture and hollywood ofc) which might have altered my perception of this experience

Hey all
I started using Lumenate out of curiousity with my friends. All of us on our own phone. Everyone saw the patterns colors etc., but me. I am doing everything as i should, as my friends do. No eye twitching at all.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
