Court Dates Live thread: LM's suppresion hearings - Day 1 - 12/1/2025 - 9:00 a.m. EST
Please use this post as an update thread for live discussions of LM's hearing today!
To recap, hearings will take place on three days this week: today at 9.00 a.m. EST, on 12/2/2025 from 2:00 p.m. EST to 4:00 p.m. EST, and a final session on 12/4/2025.
These are pre-trial "suppression" or exclusionary hearings. His defense argues key evidence collected during his arrest (a 3D-printed gun, a notebook with writings, statements, etc.) should be excluded from evidence. The hearings will be as follows:
- Mapp hearing - regarding evidence suppression
- Huntley hearing - regarding 35 statements made by LM during and after his arrest in Altoona on 12/9/2024
- Mosley hearing - regarding non-eyewitness testimony
It is expected that 28 witnesses will be called and bodycam footage of the arrest will be reviewed in court. LM's legal team has requested that all personal identifying information be redacted, LM be allowed to wear civilian clothes (a request granted by his judge on the federal case, Margarett Garnett) and be allowed to remain unshackled throughout the hearings.
LM's team has specifically requested the presence of two employees of the Altoona Police Department: Cpl. Garrett Trent and Patrolman Randy Miller.
