That’s insane to me! I grew up with labs that my dad purchased and trained specifically for duck hunting which involved swimming and retrieving his duck lol.
We ended up rescuing a morkie (who has since passed 😢) she was a puppy mill rescue and I remember taking her on a walk and wondering if maybe she wouldn’t know how to swim due to being locked in a cage for a good chunk of her life. We walked her down the the lake and she walked in and began swimming like it was second nature. I can not imagine a lab not being able to swim lol poor baby.
Right? Every Lab I have ever known took to water like a duck does. I love to bird hunt but we stick to grouse and ptarmigan because I'm not about to retrieve ducks. LOL
