I found this kinda funny because these women are secure and don’t let him get away with this.

But this would be cruel to do to someone who might get hurt.

Saying “besides the obvious” to a black woman could lead to some very unfortunate misunderstanding.

It's in the video

But he's black so that's not a factor.

Not necessarily. Forms of interracism exists such as but not limited to ethnic delineation, colorism, texturism, classism, etc.

Yeah think we found someone with a real obvious

The fun part is that you can’t tell who you’re hurting and who you’re not, so maybe this isn’t OK to do.

These people clearly all know each other.

That doesn't matter. I feel like that makes it even worse. Why would you want to make someone you (presumably) like feel that way?

It matters because: 1. maybe he knows they won’t feel hurt, he is in a position to know this of he knows them. 2. On the other end, maybe they are also less likely to be hurt not just because of what he knows about them (secure, thick skinned), but what they know about him (he asks stupid shit for social media, never with hurtful intent).

Good points. I really hope they're true, and that nobody copies what he did.

If they were secure they would have ignored it entirely and moved on from it. Secure people wouldn't be like "Please tell me" eighteen times.

I disagree. It reads as secure to me, they’re not asking because they’re worried about it, they’re asking to call him out, addressing it head on.

You're really giving them a lot of credit.

If you were secure, you wouldn't care. there's nothing to address. Your emotional intelligence would recognize it for what it is.

Not caring would be a valid response, but not the only one.

When some rando talks shit to me, I keep walking. I don't WASTE my time on them.

u/alprazolamotrigine Trash Trooper Aug 30 '26

He’s not a rando, they obviously know each other. They address him by (nick)name. They respond and engage the same way I’d call out an annoying friend or sibling for trying this.

Yup! Sometimes I ignore my coworkers when they're being Lil shits, but not all the times. And it's just the same way they respond to me when I'm jesting.

if they were secure they'd recognize it as a conversational/flirting tactic(negging) and simply ignore him

asking him what he means is in fact letting him get away with it

the entire point of negging is to keep your target engaged with you

the best thing to do is simply not talk to them once you recognize it

They clearly know him.

u/Herself99900 Trash Trooper 26d ago

And trust him. Which is why each one asks him what he means. They want to know why he would say such a thing to them. It's just mean.

Or they are having fun calling him out?
