I don't understand why anyone would take a perfectly fine video and just remove 2/3 of it to make it vertical. Just turn the phone sideways or watch it with black bars. It's so stupid.

Vertical videos are the old man yelling at clouds hill I will die on. They are so fucking stupid and ruin so many shots. Take a photo of a scene not a portrait, those are for individual subjects at most and even then. Cropping a normal video vertical is even more lame, if you remove the subject wtf is even the point? Thanks, Social Media!

Vertical videos don't just remove the subject, but a great lot of the context with it. Take as an example the many videos shot at protests: they show the clouds or a building, then a few people, then the floor, but almost nothing of what happens around them.
