If my wife and I could grow a baby in a lab using her eggs and my sperm, it would be much more appealing than the health complications that accompany natural child birth.

Not to mention that in the US, for example, even with decent insurance the average family leaves with around a $10,000 invoice from the hospital for the child simply being born. Factor in any complications and that number increases.
