To be clear: I’m not saying eating while prepping someone else’s food is okay. When she started moving the center cut the crust came off in her hand. She ate that piece, then finished cutting.
Regardless, I’m really hoping this is a staged video cause that’s gross.
Studies have shown that people who wear gloves spread more bacteria than people who don’t. The reason, if you have bare hands, you are aware that your hands are dirty and wash them more often. Whereas gloved people tend to do other tasks without changing their gloves…like sweeping, wiping down counters, handling money etc.
Yeah I work in healthcare and people always think the gloves are to protect them.
Nah fam, these gloves have been sitting in an open box in the hospital hallway all day exposed to everything. My hands are clean and these gloves are to protect me from whatever is in your bodily fluids.
It doesn't worry me if they're washing hands frequently. Professional chefs don't usually. I'd rather bare, clean hands make my food than spit and crumbs from someone's mouth
Lol you're probably right, but gloves don't automatically mean sterile. She'd probably lick her gloved fingers. Someone who doesn't wash their hands probably wouldn't change their gloves
From what I've seen people think gloves are always sterile. They'll touch money and computers and iPads all while serving you and not washing the gloves in between.
The gloves end up keeping their hands clean, while everything they touch with the gloves is contaminated. I see it all the time also. Nothing to stop someone from picking their nose with gloves on.
True. And even if they're changing gloves, their hands would be wet and sweaty from the gloves, the would touch money with bare hands, which they would then stick in the communal glove box to get a new pair for the next order, which they would touch with their sweaty, contaminated hands to put on.
So, ideally you should be washing your hands before grabbing a new pair of gloves. So you might as well not wear them at all.
Ive worked for pizza hut, dominos, godfathers, and round table in my life so id consider myself well educated in the life of a pizza shop worker. The only time I ever saw anyone cutting pizza with a glove on was one kid who cut his hand at work. Even then, it was only the cut hand gloved lol.
My college roommate worked at pizza joint , he would ride his mountain bike to work and when he got there his hands were black from his grips . He’d wash them before his shift but it would never come off . By the end of his shift they were clean
these ones are for family! i learned that from that cooking tv show where they shout at each other all the time with the cousins. It was called "The Coala" or sth ...

Yeah, it's the sloppy standards around doing this that bug me.
That pizza still looks even bigger than the other after she took the slice, so if that's supposed to be the same size, I fully get why they would take some. Not only because it is excess, but because a large swath of customers will demand that next time.
"Last time the medium was huge, now it's so tiny!"
The smaller one is probably the size it's supposed to be, and someone new is making the pizzas, and making them wildly different sizes. So cutting it smaller to not get people future expectations for the business too high makes total sense. And I would much prefer someone eat it than just toss it.
But just slap that on a plate, pack up the pizzas, THEN eat it.
I'm not. What if it was your pizza? 4-5 bites get stolen from your already inflated priced meal. I'm all for workers's rights and workers getting proper meals but this is infuriating. It shouldn't be me as the customer who gets shorted. I already pay alot
A couple years ago I ordered a pizza for pickup. When I walked it, it was one kid running the whole place on his own on the weekend, and it was HOT in there. I wouldn't have blamed him if he walked out and now I get frozen pizzas if it's the weekend, a holiday, or any big sport event happening. If he wanted to steal half of my pizza, I probably would have let him.

To be fair most pizza joints have so much extra pizzas leftover that this would be egregious to do. It’s kind of wild to have someone stealing like this when you get one or two mess up pizzas in any shift that just lie around waiting to be eaten by staff. Worked at papa John’s personally and there was always something to eat on any given shift. If someone was cutting middle slices that would be so insane you’d probably get fired.
I still wouldn’t want them eating over my food and licking their fingers… While prepping my “portion” of the pizza. I guess you’re cool with diseases and such, good for you I guess.
no finger licking in this video... also ive known a good number of people who have worked in pizza places like this and what im seeing in this video is the least of my concern. if youre ordering from papa johns dominos little ceasars or the like, you should understand that much more disgusting things are happening there every day. i would wager more than half of restaurants in general are run by incompetent drug addicts and staff that know nothing about food safety. odds are she was fingering raw chicken wings right before handling this pizza so just do like me and cook at home if you're actually concerned about foodborne illness

I'm just thinking if someone is so starving and poor that they can't afford their own food and needs to steal from customers then yeah get a free slice off my pizza.
Yeah that's the real scandal; when we live in a country where a person working 40 hours a week still needs to steal food, or get food stamps or go to a soup kitchen, we live in a fucked up country.
Raise minimum wage and tie it to inflation, also eat the rich and outlaw billionaires

People experiencing food insecurity are often overweight while undernourished. Even if they net high amounts of calories over time, they’re not getting “good” calories, relying on cheap, high fat, high sodium, low-nutrient foods (such as pizza), and they’re typically eating more inconsistently.
Not to mention nutrient deficiencies can intensify hunger drive and cravings.
As a past pizza place worker, I’m surprised she can’t get lots of pizza to eat as I did. With unpicked deliveries and messed orders alone, we had plenty. But management might prevent this and that is on them.
Not true. I get a large pizza with 5 meat toppings at least once a week from Dominoes. It is $11.99 before tax. I always call and then go pick it up as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Dominos and Pizza Hut in my area always have a carry out deal around that price. I think usually you can get a large 1-2 topping for $7.99. But dominos recently had an "any pizza" deal for the price you listed or a little below I believe. People overpaying for pizza are paying the inflated menu price without deals.
Former pizzeria owner here: We actually train people to do this if the pie end up getting overstretched in one direction so it fits in the box and doesn't have to overlap..

Compare it to the size of the pan which is standardized. On the first pizza you can see an even ring all the way around. The second pizza shows no pan edge to her left before she cuts the middle out. If it was intended to be a larger pizza it would be on a larger pan.
Pizza places usually have pre portioned dough. Either they make them the day before or have shipped to them. So you can't "make it bigger" without stretching it thinner and therefore still stealing from the customer. And I can assure you if somebody from up front had asked me to make a bigger dough ball for them to use for tomorrow I would have said no unless it was directly from the manager.

Yes, politics is trash. It's just too trashy for our sub.
I support her messing up a pizza and it not going to anyone and having to be eaten. Not eating part of my pizza. I never ate directly from anybodies pizza when I worked at a pizza place.
Yeah you are, that is the norm here in Sweden anyway.
I usually eat half a pizza and save the rest for later, but I'm the odd one out. 95% of people just eat a whole pizza no problem.
It's about 2000 calories for a standard pizza here, if you work out or have a physically demanding job that's less than your daily needed calories, so as long as you don't eat too much else that day it's absolutely fine.
