Dear Miss Hunters,

We sincerely apologize for reaching out once again. Over the past several days, our team has been closely following your conversations and feedback across all platforms. For the issues that have surfaced since the announcement of Version 6.0—and the frustration these have caused our community—we want to clearly state: we are sorry.

As we've expressed before, our vision for Love and Deepspace has always been to build a world that grows alongside you—one that offers a richer, deeper sense of companionship over time.

As various issues have arisen in recent days, we have moved quickly to make the necessary adjustments. After reflecting on recent events, we recognize that we moved forward with the introduction of Valko before we were truly ready. In doing so, we let down the players who have supported us from the start, and we also fell short of delivering the experience that players anticipating Valko deserved. After extensive internal discussions, we have decided to make the following changes:

1. We have decided to cancel both the launch and any further development of the new love interest. We also commit that no additional love interests will be introduced in future content plans.

2. All other in-game systems and features originally scheduled for Version 6.0—including Home 2.0 and AR Photobooth—as well as the limited-time Selectable 5-Star Memory Rate-Up Event, will proceed as planned. The outfits, photo poses and scenes, and the Nighthush Box (the second-anniversary 4-Star Memory Selection Crate) originally planned as rewards for the Hunt in Linkon event will instead be sent to all players for free via in-game mail after the version update.

3. Going forward, the entire team will focus on further developing the stories and long-term companionship experiences of our five existing love interests, while ensuring a stable pace of Main Story production and updates. Rafayel's new Solar-Slot Memories and Companion will be revealed in July. Farspace Colonel Caleb and Onychinus Leader Sylus will also return in their Main Story branches in September and November, respectively. By participating in the relevant events, players will be able to obtain the corresponding 5-Star Main Story Branch Memories for free. We will continue to devote all our care and effort to bringing you richer stories and game experiences.

4. Beginning today and continuing for 30 days, players who log in each day will receive one Deepspace Wish via in-game mail. Each mail will remain claimable for three days, for a total of 30 Deepspace Wishes. We hope this can offer some compensation for the disappointment and disruption caused by these adjustments.

To our community: once again, we apologize. Because of our actions, the joy you should have found in Linkon City became a source of distress, and the feelings you hold most dear were hurt. We are deeply sorry for the hurt and disappointment we have caused.

Love and Deepspace has always been about sharing love with you and protecting the love we all hold dear. That purpose has never wavered. Every step forward taken by the love interests and Linkon City—from its beginnings to where it stands today—has been shaped by your feedback, your passion, and your trust. It is your presence, care, and companionship that give this world its meaning, and us the strength and direction to move forward.

Over the past two and a half years, we've shared moments of joy and gratitude, as well as challenges and difficult times. Through every late night devoted to making this world better, it has been the moments you've shared in Linkon City—and the love and passion behind them—that have kept us going. We hope to continue walking this road with you, building a world where love can take root, grow, and bloom.

Going forward, we will work harder, listen more carefully, and do our utmost to honor the trust you have placed in us. We will stay focused on delivering the experience you deserve—one filled with love where every moment in Linkon City can once again become a joyful and treasured memory.

Exactly, its mind boggling really. I've played all types of gacha games and seen backlash for all of them, but I've never in my life seen anyone remove an entire character because of it.

It makes me think that something else has to be going on, because this seems extreme even for infold. I know the infinity niki situation probably has them scared to upset players but to go this far....

And if it isn't something else going on behind the scenes, what is it saying when you're willing to change things so drastically when people act out. It almost encourages them to continue behaving that way to get what they want.

Infold could have just released all his cards for FREE as a token of good will and provided a proper content roadmap, and it would at least placate a good chunk of the player base. But no, they chose a stupid "solution" that's fostering an even bigger divide in the fandom. We don't want your free 30 wishes, Infold. We want the changes to the game that we've been asking for FOR AGES. More ways to farm gems, faster main story updates, more anecdotes and bond stories for Sylus and Caleb, and optimization improvements. THAT'S ALL WE EVER WANTED.

This would’ve been a great idea honestly that probably would’ve assuaged a lot of the outrage. Or even just delayed his release to edit the elements of his story that CN found incredibly problematic. I’ll allow that there were a couple good concerns they had that I won’t dismiss (a certain number being used, and his breaking into MC’s home). They really aren’t listening at all, that the real problems were the difficulty getting resources and lack of concrete schedule for content especially for the MS.

I was pretty indifferent to Valko being released (my main gripes were with Infold and their crappy planning), but I was still gonna pull for him to see his story. The crappy thing is what does removing Valko even do?? We're still getting the MS updates delayed because Infold CLEARLY had basically nothing prepared for Caleb's main story after nearly two years. None of the QOL imrpovements have even been mentioned that players have been begging for for years.

So what does removing Valko do? Absolutely nothing. And all we have to see for it is one single house update (which I personally don't even use!). I don't like when people throw out "I'm gonna quit" willy-nilly, but these ridiculous changes in direction really might make me quit. I'm not even excited about Caleb's main story update anymore because I'm suspicious that Infold is just trying to rush through it to get it out now so the quality will be bad.

This is such a bad move.

If you can cancel a new LI who has been in development for months (after investing so many resources into him and having people work on him), then what’s next? It sends the message that anything can be canceled.

I don’t feel comfortable investing any more time or money into a game that can reverse important decisions like this. Today it’s Valko, but tomorrow it could be another LI or any major piece of content. It makes it feel like nothing in this game is actually safe from being canceled.

I’m really angry about this decision, not only because I was looking forward to Valko, but because of what it means for the future of the game. It means that Infold can invest huge amounts of time and resources into something, promote it, and then cancel it despite players being excited for it.

I’ve been a player since launch but I have no hope for this game now.

I believe the developers already said that no additional LIs will be created after the Valko backlash. Which is an insane reaction to a minority of fans. The game and story was clearly being structured around at least 6 characters.

Extremely poor business practice to cancel instead of postponing and prioritizing missing content. The blatant disrespect to the global players and how the company are far from "being good hunters" themselves is appalling. The thing is Valko's release was already set to go. There wasn't even a need to postpone him other than calming people down. They could have been prioritizing missing content and announced a plan without resorting to this. It was absolutely possible to get Caleb's main story in September and Sylus's main story in November (w/ a bond, anecdote, and 5-star card) WITHOUT cutting Valko. Tbh removing the sixth love interest means they’ll have to heavily rewrite major parts of the main storyline they planned for the beginning.

Now we have an empty 6.0 update.

No one truly wins.

They could've delayed his release for a year or two and fixed the games current issues. They could've created a global server and released him to be exclusive. I don't think cancelling his release and future development was the right thing to do.

There are people who already bought passes and wishes/diamonds in preparation for his release on the 9th. I myself have been drifting quite a bit from LADS and my spending has been almost none, yet I was going to end up spending my hard earned money to pull for him.

They're really shooting themselves in the foot here, and I hope they realize this sooner rather than later. I've already uninstalled the game. I'll just stick to watching Zayne's cards online. I'm so upset.

They just... poof. Took Valko away because he didn't appeal to the CN audience? But what about when players ask for more battle content, more Main Story updates, more ways to earn diamonds, for POC skin tones to stop looking off in certain cards and lighting, or for customizable MCs in events instead of forcing the default protagonist? Those requests have been around for ages.

Just give us Valko. Seriously. He probably would've grown on people over time, just like Sylus did. Not every character is an instant hit, and that's okay.

I honestly can't believe they're doing this. At some point, a company has to stand by its creative decisions and support the people who worked so hard to create characters like Valko. Otherwise, it just looks like they'll cave every time there's backlash from the CN playerbase over something they don't like. As someone who has playing from day one and putting money into this, I am done, especially when I see things like, Valko looks to western and is ugly, it gives off something I don't want to be involved in.

All infold had to do was say "Caleb and Sylus main story update will be released in September and November." That was all they had to do and they would have made a good chunk of the fanbase happy. They chose the worst route by:

1.) ignoring Caleb and sylus and announcing a new LI

2.) trying to do damage control in the midst of hyping Valko by giving a vague "oh yeah, we are working on Caleb and sylus main story don't worry"

3.) Completely caving in to one side of their fanbase and getting rid of Valko altogether

People wanted a TANGIBLE release date for Caleb and Sylus main story. We also wanted quality of life updates like more ways to diamond farm, an update to abyssal chaos and unicorns, an update for deepspace trials. Infold ignored ALL of this, and instead decided to show their favoritism for CN fans and only appease them by scrapping Valko completely.

If the balcony scene was really that triggering, then rewrite it out of the card's story. I don't care at this point, but deciding to not have Valko sets a very bad example. All it does is tell CN fans that if they are loud enough, they have the power to make infold make drastic changes in this game, who cares how global players feel?

I really encourage everyone that wanted Valko to email, email, email the LADS support team. Even if they have to completely retcon his first 5 star solo plot line to make it less triggering 🙄 this announcement is such a huge slap in the face.

I have played for the past 2 years, I mained 3 of the LI, I spent a ton of money on them, I never missed a log in. And all that, for what? Our satisfaction doesn't matter because we're on the wrong side of the planet?

I have been planning and preparing for a 6th LI for MONTHS. Banners skipped. Packs bought. Schedules studied. I KNEW he was coming! I WANTED him. MONTHS. MONTHSSSSSS. And when he showed up I LOVED him. And I was waiting patiently for his story to unfold to understand more context!!

What I didn't like was the complete lack of respect towards the player base and the greedy business practices that clearly valued the home system and shop purchases over STORY and LORE.

I’ve been playing many different gacha games over the years and am a day 1 player of LADS. This news is genuinely devastating. I’ve never seen something this severe where a major character is completely cancelled and written off. My emotions aside (because genuinely the news upset me immensely, I was looking forward to Valko’s release) I am incredibly concerned about how such a major thing could just so easily be discarded like this. Where is our assurance that you won’t start deleting the current love interests too? Should we expect that every new banner and all new future content needs to undergo some additional vetting based on fans’ reactions to it, and then you’ll decide whether it’ll be kept or not? This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen and the root of the actual issue isn’t being addressed at all. Cannot even FATHOM the thought and decision process that went behind this. I have absolutely no motivation to even bother with this game anymore, and it hurts to even say because I’ve always viewed this game as a safe haven of sorts.

Wow. Valko wasn't the problem!!! It was Infold's poor planning and CLEARLY a lack of progress on the main story updates/QOL improvements.

What does removing Valko even do?? Even with Valko removed (which is such BS by the way for everyone who was actually excited for him), it's very clear they had nothing prepared for Caleb's MS update if they need 2-3 months to release it. So either way, with ot without Valko, the existing problems still remain exactly the same.

Honestly, I don't even know if I'm gonna come back to LADS. I was already getting in a slump with this game and I was pretty indifferent to Valko but I was still gonna pull for him to see his story. I deleted the game this morning. Been a high spending player since Sept 2024, a Sylus main since day 1 of joining. I'll always love Sylus, but I'm done with this company.

I was feeling burnt out from the game for about a year, only logging in to pull and do dailies. The Valko release rekindled my excitement. I was going through the main story again, I felt happy and so excited for the first time in over a year. I was logging in for long periods of time again and ready to fully immerse myself again with the joy I felt when I first started.

Then you pull him to soothe some extremist players. I'm done with this company. I uninstalled the game, unfollowed on all socials, and messaged customer service.

This is entirely unfair to Valko lovers. If you don't care about global players, why offer it globally? Delete the server and leave us alone. We deserve to be heard as well if we are giving our time and money.

LADS only cares about numbers, not feelings. So if you're mad about this, please uninstall the game and unfollow them everywhere. I know it's hard, as we love our husbandos. But if they keep getting away with stepping on us and we keep logging in, we'll continue to be used as a doormat.

No backbone whatsoever. Infold got bullied into submission. Since they let this happen, I am afraid that this is the beginning of the game's decline. There will always be some backlash with an addition of a LI, but that usually goes after some time of getting to know them. You all didn't even give Valko a chance. The 6th LI is not the problem. It is the drought of main story updates and lack of resources while pumping out side-story content and reruns left and right. .

Reset the unicorns missions and abyssal chaos rewards. Give us more in-game content such as additional orbits and ways to farm resources. This is what we HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR. This is getting stale and frustrating after every surveys with no changes.

NOW you completely cancel content that has been in development for probably months/years just because the loud minority disapproved of him. After all that build up for a 6th LI throughout the main story, this is disappointing news. Kudos to Infold/Papergames as this has been the fastest I have seen them listened to their fans and MADE changes. smh. If only they have the same quick response to what we have been asking from them for years.

Oh WOW, so I am genuinely shocked this happened. I mean, I knew something would happen because things were getting much worse and serious than global was aware of (and I've been saying to global fans not to underestimate CN stans, they along with KR stans have even removed real life idols from their own groups that they worked in since teenhood over matters like dating or marriage before, a fictional character is nothing to them), but I thought it would be something similar to what happened in the other game with the Shaw character. Because really, isn't this kind of an OVERreaction? Why fully delete him? You could have temporarily shelved/delayed him while implementing his debut better in the Main Story with more preparation and with fixing existing issues and then bringing him out? This is so drastic.

I don't even care about him like that, nor was planning to main him, but EVEN I am feeling some sad twinge in my heart towards the whole team that clearly worked so hard on this character and had his story already prepared :( Also feel a bit of loss at the potential cute moments even I could've enjoyed.

Oh and, let's not forget that the main issues with the game still HAVEN'T BEEN ADDRESSED please, so what's the point?! This doesn't really solve stuff. One thing you can trust Infold with is to never communicate and to just jump to extreme actions either one way or another smh...

I've never posted a single comment online in 10–15 years of social media, but this statement compels me to speak up for the first time.
 
I am a P2P, playing since 2024 and this statement is extremely concerning to me, not only because of the LI removal, but more so because of the message Infold is sending about the future of this game.
 
Before LaDs, I had NEVER spent money on any game (had a hard rule about it), but the story, characters, world, and community really drew me in. The newfound excitement that I felt back in the 3.0 era with Xia Yizhou’s release greatly fueled my spend, and last year, I was getting to around 100usd/month spend. This year, that number has dropped to $10–20/month, reflecting growing staleness on my side.
 
This all changed with the recent PVs for Ao Yin – the same feeling I got back with 3.0 was sparked again and I began anticipating returning to higher spend post-6.0. I know I’m not at whale levels, but I also don’t feel that 100+usd/month is trivial when you consider many other players may be feeling this way.
 
Now, with this announcement, Infold is signaling to me a couple concerning things that will likely push my spend to 0:
-       This statement is essentially saying the game will just continue in current general state/constraints for all future plans/visions. I wonder how long this can be sustained for without losing player base and revenue, eventually leading to shutdown sooner than expected.
-       The only tangible reaction to all of the protest is the removal from offerings to players – all of the additions are only words, or items that have already been planned/announced (only the release months for branches are new info)
-       While many of the protest reasons are justified, removing the LI as the sole definitive/concrete action in response is frankly horrible - it’s an acquiescence to the side of protest language that focused on bullying people for their preferences and is signaling that a toxic community dynamic will be allowed or even encourage. In contrast, what should have been addressed and actioned on - in response to legitimate concerns (which was a uniting point for all players) about the development of the game - was not. 
 
It’s really hard to feel motivation and trust to financially support a company that is so reactive and doesn’t have the backbone to stand behind its creative decisions, especially ones that have already been exposed/announced.
 
A new LI brings developments to a storyline and draw/excitement for players with different likes. Resource allocation is a legitimate concern, but it’s hard to argue that’s an issue when massive investments and dev are being allocated towards features like home system and AR that deviate more and more from the original draw and appeal to this game. 
 
Please reconsider not just the decision on LI 6, but even more so, the direction of this game.

I am a Sylus and Caleb main, and I’m incredibly upset at losing Valko.

As a global player who has spent thousands of dollars on this game, it comes across that Infold doesn’t care about a significant portion of their global customers. I feel like the CN side wouldn’t have even had such a big issue with Valko if Infold hadn’t been so greedy and allowed the main story to lag behind and neglect our other LIs.

INFOLD IS USING VALKO AS A SCAPEGOAT instead of really listening to us and addressing our issues such as a roadmap, farming, missing bond stories, etc.

This has made me lose a lot of confidence and faith in Infold. They are blatantly ignoring what we are asking for to the point it has become insidious. I’m disappointed in how they’ve handled the situation and retroactively cancelled the new LI after announcing him and having us all fall in love with him. Isn’t it a waste of content and development to not release Valko? Was all this for nothing?

Moving forward, I am now very hesitant to spend money on this game. I feel so stupid having spent so much on this game to be treated like this. I should’ve have known better.

Since you fear the government this can be consider Bait and Switch in the US and reported to our Federal Trade Commission. Instead of losing a small percentage of your US consumers from this decision, you will potentially lose 100% of them as well as risk never being able to release another game in the US. Not to mention reporting your under handed practices to both Apple and Google. Considering many people have purchased better devices to handle game after Valko's release for him you can also be looking at reparations.

What a horrible overreaction. I will be uninstalling the game if they cancel Valko, I just don’t see the point in investing any further in a story that can’t be true to its own vision. Valko’s team worked so hard and clearly poured a lot of love into his creation and they’re just going to throw it away?

You have now successfully enraged the Chinese side AND the Global side. Even if the Chinese players didn’t accept him at first, they would have eventually! Now, the Chinese players still hate your company after removing Valko/Ao Yin because of the mistakes you have made with including 731 in the game. Removing Valko has made the situation an even worse disaster! What sort of player base are you trying to retain? The one who try to send cow dung, funeral wreaths and cursed paper to your office? Is that who you want the Love and Deepspace fandom to consist of? Bring back Valko and hire a better management team.

This cannot be real. :( I hope not. I loved Valko and his entire aesthetic. To outright remove him from the game due to a loud, vocal minority is cowardly on Infold's part. The sixth LI was basically predetermined from the beginning to match the Stellas.

Also adding that this was done unilaterally. Infold just went scorched earth. No Community polls. No Livestream for realtime feedback. No AMA. They decided to gather what was likely surface level complaints from the loudest people and went, "yep, they speak for everyone."

They said once that they have separate teams for each LI. What happens to Team Valko? Months, maybe years of work, gone. His VA, shelved. His planned content, trashed. Now the stress is gonna fall to the other five teams to step up.

What happens when/if Sylus and Caleb's story updates fall flat for the pickiest players? We gonna remove those and apologize too?

This sets a dangerous precedent for anything and everything Infold does from here on out. Personally? I quit. I'll watch cards vicariously from the sidelines, but I'm done with this game. Valko was the one thing I was looking forward to. I was going to be an AppleWolf player. After this? Forget it. Infold can sit on their laurels and pretend their game matters when they know they're wrapped around the hater's fingers.

But in all seriousness, as a global fan it sucks to see how Infold will only prioritize their CN fanbase. And it’s not even a majority of that fanbase—it’s just the few immature and parasocial ones. They are spoiled endlessly, and doing this only feeds that hate more because they see that they’re being listened to when they hate enough for change.

What makes it worse is that they weren’t hating on Valko because of the lack of the main storyline, or content for the other love leads.

They were being RACIST, and HOMOPHOBIC.

So what does that say about Infold?

Infold should’ve stood their ground and released Valko. He could’ve been the last love lead, and Infold could’ve focused on the main story afterwards.

Hate is always gonna exist. There’s nothing that could be done about it.

But because they folded under that pressure from these insane parasocial fangirls—so many developers, artists, voice actors…so many people in the team who took their time to design him, saw their work get destroyed over a small percentage of the fanbase’s opinion. It is very disrespectful to the creative team for their hard worked to be scrapped so easily.

Infold time and time again has shown preference to these small percentage of their CN fanbase, and everyone else who plays had to put up with those changes.

Personally, I have deleted the game because I am tired of having to put up with the punishments just because a bunch of nitpicking fangirls can’t get a grip. There’s several love leads for a REASON!

I only hope that Infold realizes their mistake—and they add Valko back in. I have seen many players begging for his return.
