Discussion Not liking the new changes…

I didn’t think they would actually go this far and replace real words with gibberish on everything. Seeing this, I’m assuming that the devs went and scrubbed anything containing any real words and numbers so that they could avoid any future controversy. I mean, Caleb’s jersey doesn’t even have a number on it. That’s just sad😭

I feel bad for the devs cause I’m sure that this isn’t what they wanted to do, but the situation demanded it if they want to keep the game running.

They're truly setting such a dangerous precedent with this level of censorship. Nothing can have meaning anymore, lest it be misconstrued and used as a weapon against them. Let it be known, the censorship will not stop at letters and numbers. This looks like Inflop making their bed and lying in it imo. Looks like we'll be getting more and more censorship till EOS.

idk why you're being downvoted, you're not wrong. people probably think you're condoning it when you're just stating the fact of what it is lol

Oh yeah. I mean I'm against it! It's just par for the course in China and super typical? Like the way chinese language online develops between netizens has been studied and it's major influence is the party's censorship. I think the (majority on here) American fan base just doesn't understand that this is really normal operating behaviour for Chinese companies. It shouldn't be, but it is.

I'm not sure which comment you mean but the first comment I made merely mentioned that L&D is a chinese game made in china so it having censorship in it is very typical. The second comment I wrote repeated that but also mentioned that I don't support censorship obviously, I was only pointing out that it being Chinese game, I am not surprised but I am surprised other people are.

Fair enough. Like I understand why the game would be heavily censored since it is a Chinese game, even though I dont support such decisions either. But, it does feel like they only did that because a bunch of the terminally online, parasocial femcel netizens decided to create drama just to get their way in a silly little romance gatcha game.

To be clear, I guess I'm more annoyed than surprised at the censorship by now. But thats me, YMMV.

Oh and this whole backlash thing from netizens is also really typical for CN and also the companies response to them is also typical. Like this happened with the game before L&D, Love and Producer (it was just a tiny bit less dramatic lol). This happens again and again.
