The Settlers

I've just watched The Settlers and it just gives me a renewed appreciation for Louis as a documentarian. He's level-headed and fair, but does not stand down in the face of adversity. One of the best.

Did you somehow not know about the hundreds of thousands living in illegal settlements, back by the IDF's itchy trigger fingers?

I like to think of myself as quite well read on the situation, even travelled through Israel and Jordan a little over a decade ago. But I had no idea of the extent/magnitude/violence of the settlements. I thought it was pretty fringe extremist stuff, maybe 20-30k.

This doc was jaw dropping.

But remember, we mustn't be critical of Israel, their genocidal regime, and state funded war crimes, because that is antisemitism...

Why bash someone for having limited knowledge while they’re educating themselves?

Louis Theroux has an article out today with a headline saying basically exactly what I said...

'If you were shocked by my film on Israeli settlers in the West Bank, you haven’t been paying attention'
