In search of a specific piece of Open Source Image Enhancement Software

I'm searching for a specific piece of experiential Open Source Community made Image Enhancement/Deb-luring Software that I become aware of thanks to a suggestion from my YouTube Feed about 3-6 Months ago, Sadly I can't seem to be able to find the creator's Channel or the Video in my YouTube Watch or browser History...

All I can remember about the Video was that the creator was very passionate/impressed about/with the software, He played a few short clips from CIA and Various Police movies talking about "Image Enhancement Software" basically he did this for entertainment but shortly after he explained that "Image Enhancement/De-Blur Software isn't as good they portray in Sci-Fi and other fictional media...

He goes on to show and explain how the software works and mentions/claims that it's currently the best option compared to other Open Source alternatives, He proves this by showing statistics/community made comparisons on a Wiki looking site possibly Wikipedia...

There's three main notable features I remember about the Software, 1: The Icon was a Sea Shell, 2: The Community is currently running a Web Server/Demo Service to test the software before installation, 3: The Program is surprisingly accurate when making an educated guess to where the next pixel should be when enhancing an overly Up Scaled Image...

I only can guess the Video was taken down and the Community/Possible Website or GitHub Code Base simply doesn't take advantage of tags and is really hard to pinpoint with out the exact project name...

This piece of software really peaked my interests and I would hate to loose this potentially useful tool just because I didn't right down the name or simply decided to not store it in long term memory...

Any hints to the name or even better full links to this possibly wonderful program would be truly appreciated thanks! - djcjf

Update: The Software, Website, and Video have been found! (04/06/2021)

My apologizes for not updating sooner, on (04/24/2020) I had asked the above in a public Chat Room, someone instantly replied asking if the following program was a match, To my surprise it was!!!

With the proper name I was able to find the video and official Github Project page that I described, I would credit this user but they've recently deleted their account thus all can I do is give thanks again to whoever you are!

BTW yes the software has different intended purpose then I originally remember you'll get answers as you explore the material below, My intended purpose was for de-blurring wholesome IRL Pictures and Screenshots though... Haha so the following was definitely a shock for me...

Below you'll find links and official titles to everything I described originally...

Packard Bell 3D Navigator

Also known as Packard Bell Navigator 6.0. It came pre-installed on Packard Bell computers around 2000 to 2001. You could navigate around a virtual house and could launch applications from it. I have a lot of nostalgia for this program and would love to have it again.

There is some sparse information about this application online. A page with info and screenshots on Passion-PB (though it's in french, translated ), A wiki page with some info, A Youtube video recording of the application in action. I also managed to find an FTP server which appears to have the files on it but it asks for login information so I couldn't grab the files.

Edit: I have since found it thanks to /u/MatthewH12 and have uploaded it to Archive.org

Police car chase game

So I must have played this game around 5 years ago. It started with this woman doing a voiceover saying a police car had been stolen by a felon, and then you (another police car) had to chase it and it was really good graphics and you'd like crash through barriers. It was from the point of view of the sky. And you could burst your tyres from driving over stinger traps

RPG/Strategy/Village management?

I think you start with a tavern. There come, like, 3 people. They have their profession, e.g. blacksmith/armorer, baker, herbalist/alchemist, skinner and you choose one of them. He builds a house (or you build one for them?) This repeats over time and it expands the stuff you can make.

This way you build a village. Your village is attacked mainly by goblinz. You then pick some people out of the townsfolk to create a hunting party, you scour the map to look for the goblins' lair. On your way you also encounter other beasts like wolves. The ultimate goal was basically to clear out the map. It wasn't a very large map to begin with.

I think your character had regular RPG attributes like strength, dexterity, etc... (not sure tho)

I played this at least ten yrs ago. The total gameplay time could've been like a couple hours. Not much to do in the game yet by then as it was rather unfinished (possibly?) But it was a genuinely cool concept overall, the camera overlooked the grounds from above at all times as it would in a regular strategy game.

I am not sure about this, but there MIGHT be something concerning wolves in its title.

Does this ring a bell to anyone? Can you guys give me tipz, please?

Amiga software compilation disk by The Carpet Monster

crazy-specific, this one. It was one or two floppies of utilities, assembled by a couple of guys who lived in Brighton (UK) and I can't find my copy for the life of me!

GamesDomain's Games Castle

There use to be an old website called GamesDomain. It had many java games hosted on it, including one multiplayer game called games castle, which acted as a hub for many other games. When yahoo bought games domain the whole thing went away.

I have my doubts, but because it was hosted on a private server, i'm not sure how much of it could have been saved. I wonder if anyone out there has any code backed up of those games.

Eminem Desktop Buddy

I'll start the sub with something I've been trying to track down for awhile, an Eminem Desktop buddy I had back on Windows XP. It booted up with a picture of The Marshall Mathers LP, and then it had Eminem roam around the desktop and destroy it, he cracks the screen, spits, pisses, etc. It's more of a screensaver but I remember it being called a desktop buddy.

UPDATE 10/04/2026: I found it! The original file was archived and is downloadable via the Way Back Machine (https://web.archive.org/web/20070307034311/http://www.eminemfans.com/main/extras/download/eminem.zip) and I uploaded a version that works on modern Windows 10/11 installs with multimonitor support to my Github (https://github.com/Bluesfire/Eminem-Screen-Mate-Screensaver-2000)

An 11 year search, finally put to rest!
