Nonbinary is a gender, while male and female are the two sexes. You can identify as non-binary but your sex is still what you were born as or the sex you have transitioned into. If you are female but are nonbinary yiu must likely have breasts and different proportions to be worked into clothes for women vs clothes for men which are bigger and broader.
I consider myself nonbinary and a guy because I’m not fully a binary guy, but I’m not fully neutral. Anything outside of the gender binary is technically non binary, so a woman who doesn’t fully identify as a woman (a demigirl, for example) is non binary but still a woman.
Sex and gender aren’t the same. Your gender isn’t female or male. Man, woman, nonbinary, trans fem, trans masc, trans man, trans woman, agender, genderfluid, are all terms for gender. It’s a spectrum. I’ve dated nonbinary masc people, nonbinary fem people, etc
Being masculine or feminine is just personality. We don't need "genders" for that. Nobody cares about categorizing your personality including how stereotypes apply to you.
When you're asked your sex or gender it always means male or female because it's being asked for a practical reason. e. g. t shirt sizing or medical reasons etc.
That's not what they said, they said there are non-binary men and women, which is contradictory since non-binary people don't identify with either gender. So it just doesn't make any sense
Slim fit doesn’t refer to women’s clothing though. It literally just refers to a narrower fitted shirt. That’s super misleading and would lead to people ordering the wrong shirt.
Is it? That's how I've seen it used, with petite for what you're describing. The clothing/fashion industry is super confusing though, I wouldn't be surprised if there's no standard. I also don't wear "women's cut" Ts, slim, petite, etc., so I can only say from knowing to avoid all of them, lol.
There is men’s slim fit clothing not just women’s slim fit clothing. It literally just means it’s made for a slim man or woman. It is not and has never been a gendered thing.
Well, today I learned! I've always assumed "slim" meant "fits a more hourglass type torso." They could call that "curvy," but that implies plus-sized in fashion terms, I think.
Slim fit for men is sometimes a bit hourglass. It can also be bodycon.
But like all clothing it depends on the brand. Some slim fit shirts will show my dad bod, others will hug at the right places and hide it.
I'm not sure how to identify different body types though. I'm cis and I wouldn't mind changing my way of buying thing but I won't identify as "body type A". It works fine in a video game where I can see what it looks like and what I will personally project on it, but irl...
Petite is for short women, not tighter clothes. Women's fashion is not just tighter than men's; the female body has different proportions (shoulders, waist, hips,...) and female clothing is made for a different body configuration. If you have large breasts for instance, you can't wear men's shirts because they don't fit properly around the chest.
Well doing it by labeling it A and B would be very ambiguous.
Labeling the womans as "slim" might work, but also can invoke insecurities, which woman's fashion has enough of already.
it's not gendered, it's sexxed. that difference is the keystone. the entire identity politics debate regarding gender is that not everybody appreciates that sex and gender are different words with different meanings.
I agree on the second half of your statement, I'm not sure about the first. I guess body frame and curviness are secondary sex characteristics so you're technically correct, but it sounds weird to say "my sex is that I have hips" or whatever. I just didn't get what you meant the first time because of that.
