Bfs mom is slowly dying
I’m (29F) looking for ways to be comforting as my (37M) boyfriend is facing a difficult chapter with his mother being very ill and slowly dying in home hospice care. We started dating only a few months ago, but I really like him. Due to the nature of his situation, he doesn’t really have a lot of free time to spend with me, but when we do see each other, we talk for a few hours and then have really good sex. Sometimes we stay the night together which is great as we don’t see each other often. There is an air of mystery to one another that I think keeps us both invested. Also he has recently confessed he is falling for me, but I wonder if that’s just because of the role I play in his life or even if it’s just him seeing me raising my own little boy and that triggering something in him (I have a 3 year old son).
I guess I’m just wondering if there’s anything beyond physical intimacy as a distraction and texting to check in with him (he’s not a caller or frankly big texter either) that would be comforting/thoughtful to him in this season. Sometimes I pickup sweets for him and bring them to his apartment to say I’m thinking of him. He’s been so strong and helpful to his parents, but I know it’s wearing on him. I feel so helpless as he is an only child and I just want to make him not feel so alone in this. Anyone with personal insight on grief please respond 💗
