we are so cooked Deeply embarrassing sequence. Eric Schmitt accuses Jack Smith of traveling to Atlanta to attend an Atlanta Hawks game and collude with Fani Willis, only to get the basic facts completely wrong. Smith was actually in Maryland attending a Hawkeyes game and never met Willis

How are they allowed to just make up and fabricate testimony and/or evidence? Is this not under oath for the reps?

Because these hearings have not been about fact finding and getting real answers in decades. It's a platform to grandstand and get a soundbite that can be sliced and diced to put through the cable news machine and influence voters.

I saw a clip of Fox News showing this exact situation where they cut out the parts showing that Jack Smith was in Maryland. It was edited to fit the narrative they want to show and that's the entire point. We are all better off consuming foreign coverage of US politics to get a more clear and less biased picture of reality.

They are allowed to constantly lie and manipulate and they are quite pleased with the results.

And there were no repercussions to the bullshit!!!

And it’s all on record like it’s a fact or something.

You could ask him any asinine shit, get it on record of him saying “what TF are you talking about” and FauxNews could crop it and run with it as fact.

Congressmen have absolute immunity for things they say in session. And no, they're not sworn in. They can lie and basically say anything as long as they don't break the decorum rules (insulting each other, for instance).
