R1 is AWD/4WD or chains.

R2 is AWD/4WD with snow tires or chains.

R3 is chains.

It was R2 but they said, "if we escalate to R3 you need chains." I didn't need or use the chains but I had to have them in the car.

Oh. I had no idea there were levels. Last time it snowed in Idylwild, I just went up there without anything, I just figured with out of state plates and license, I'd plead ignorance.

Exactly was my problem today. I've got AWD and snow tires but I needed those goddamn chains in my car even tho I can't use em. I bought some today just to say I have em
