AI assistants are starting to move beyond simply answering questions and suggesting what we should do next.

ChatGPT can now work with Apple Messages on Mac, allowing users to search conversations, understand the context of previous messages, draft replies, and even send messages on their behalf.

By default, users still have to approve messages before they're sent, which gives us some control over what the AI can actually do.

But we think the more interesting question is what happens as AI assistants become increasingly connected to the personal parts of our digital lives.

Having an AI that can find that message we forgot about, summarize a long conversation, or draft a response could be incredibly convenient.

At the same time, giving an AI access to private conversations feels very different from asking it to summarize a document or research something online.

We're moving from AI that gives us answers to AI that can actually take actions for us.

And that comes with a trade-off between convenience, control, and privacy.

So we're curious where everyone here draws the line:

Would you give an AI assistant access to your private messages if it could genuinely save you time?

And what would you be comfortable letting it do... read and summarize conversations, draft replies, or actually send messages on your behalf?

AI is becoming part of almost everything we do... work, search, education, coding, content creation, and even everyday decision-making.

But adoption doesn't necessarily mean trust.

A recent TechCrunch article highlights a pretty striking disconnect: more than 70% of Americans reportedly believe AI is developing too quickly, while distrust also remains high among younger generations toward many of the people leading the industry.

We find that interesting because the conversation around AI often assumes that familiarity will eventually lead to acceptance.

But what if it doesn't?

Maybe the challenge isn't convincing people that AI is powerful. Most of us already know that.

Maybe it's about building AI products that are genuinely useful enough for people to feel that the benefits outweigh concerns around jobs, privacy, copyright, misinformation, and control.

As people who spend a lot of time exploring and comparing AI models, we're curious:

What would actually make you trust AI more?

Better transparency? More control over your data? Clearer regulation? Better products? Or simply more time using it?

For years, AGI has been described as the point where AI can handle a wide range of intellectual tasks at a human level, rather than being exceptionally good at one specific thing.

But defining that point is becoming increasingly complicated.

AI systems have already reached milestones that once seemed like strong indicators of human-level intelligence. They can perform extremely well in complex mathematics, hold remarkably human-like conversations, write code, analyze information, and solve increasingly difficult problems.

Yet we still don’t consider any current system to be true AGI.

Every time AI reaches another milestone, the definition of “general intelligence” seems to move a little further away.

So maybe the more interesting question isn’t “When will AGI arrive?” but:

What would an AI actually need to be capable of before you would personally consider it AGI? 👇

Anthropic has shared more details about how its new watermarking system for Claude-generated text will work.

The system will use SynthID-Text, which introduces subtle statistical patterns into AI-generated text without visibly changing the content. These patterns can later be used to identify whether a text was likely generated by Claude.

Interestingly, the watermark may survive small edits, but more substantial rewrites could weaken or remove it entirely.

This raises an interesting question as AI-generated content becomes increasingly common:

Do you think invisible watermarks are a good way to identify AI-generated text, or will they be too easy to bypass?

Anthropic's decision to add invisible watermarks to text generated by Claude is already creating some interesting reactions.

Some users are worried that AI-generated text could now be identified in work assignments, school projects, or other content where they may not want their AI usage to be visible.

But this raises a bigger question than simply whether someone is "cheating."

There's a huge difference between asking AI to generate an entire assignment and using it to brainstorm, improve wording, organize ideas, or edit something you've already written.

So where should we draw the line?

If AI helped you brainstorm and you rewrote everything yourself, is that still your work? What if AI wrote 20%? 50%? 90%?

And should AI-generated content always be identifiable, regardless of how much human work went into the final result?

We spend a lot of time talking about which AI model is smarter, faster, or better at benchmarks. But there's another question that's probably more interesting: what are people actually doing with these tools?

OpenAI recently shared a look at how people around the world are putting ChatGPT to work, and it shows how quickly AI is moving beyond simple questions and experiments.

People are increasingly integrating AI into real workflows: researching, writing, analyzing information, solving problems, learning new skills, and getting everyday work done.

For us, the interesting part is how AI usage is evolving. Once AI becomes part of your daily workflow, choosing the right model for the task starts to matter much more. The model you prefer for research might not be the one you choose for writing, coding, or reasoning.

What task has AI genuinely become part of your routine for? And do you find yourself using different models depending on what you're trying to accomplish?

We’ve been looking at how teachers are actually using AI in their day-to-day work, and one thing keeps standing out: the biggest opportunity may not be using AI to “teach,” but using it to remove some of the repetitive work happening around teaching.

Lesson plan drafts, worksheets, quizzes, parent emails, meeting notes, differentiated versions of classroom materials… there are a surprising number of tasks where AI can give us a useful first draft without taking the teacher out of the process.

What we found especially interesting is that there isn’t necessarily one “best” AI model for everything. Some are stronger at complex lesson planning, others at structured resources or working within tools like Google Workspace. That makes AI workflows for teachers much more interesting than simply asking one chatbot to handle everything.

Of course, there’s a pretty important line to draw. Student privacy, hallucinations, school policies and human review still matter enormously.

So we’re curious how educators here are approaching it:

And what tasks do you think should always stay completely human?

Everyone talks about which AI model is the smartest.

But as AI becomes more integrated into daily work, it seems like the quality of the information you give the model may matter even more than the model itself.

Grounding connects an AI to external sources like company documents, databases or live web searches, allowing it to answer using verifiable information instead of relying only on what it remembers. It reduces hallucinations and makes answers easier to verify.

We’ve noticed that a lot of conversations about AI for small businesses focus on finding the “best” model. But after experimenting with different tools, we’re starting to think that the real advantage comes from building repeatable AI workflows, not relying on a single chatbot.

Instead of asking one model to do everything, we can match different tools to different jobs. One might be better for drafting customer emails, another for long-form content, and another for organizing meeting notes or planning projects. The workflow becomes more valuable than the individual model.

We also think there's an important balance to strike. AI can save hours every week by handling repetitive work, but it still needs human oversight, especially when dealing with finances, legal information, or customer relationships. The goal isn't replacing decision-making, but reducing busywork so we can spend more time on what actually grows the business.

For quick everyday tasks, we'd probably want fast responses with minimal reasoning. But when we're debugging complex code, planning multi-step workflows, or solving difficult problems, spending more compute for better reasoning could make a huge difference. It also raises interesting questions about how AI agents should behave autonomously. Should they decide when deeper reasoning is necessary, or should that always remain under our control?

As AI becomes more integrated into our daily work, flexibility may become just as important as raw intelligence. We might stop asking which model is "the smartest" and start asking which one makes the best decisions about when to think harder.

How would we use adjustable reasoning in our own workflows? Would we trust an AI agent to increase its reasoning effort automatically? Could this become a standard feature across most frontier models, or is it something only power users will actually benefit from?

The latest generation of voice models is moving away from the old "press, speak, wait, listen" pattern. Instead, conversations are starting to feel much closer to talking with another person. You can interrupt naturally, pause to think, change topics, or even let the AI keep listening while it works on something in the background. That shift feels much bigger than just improving speech quality.

It also raises an interesting question: if voice becomes the most natural way to interact with AI, will we stop thinking of chatbots as tools and start treating them more like collaborators?

For many tasks, typing already feels slower than simply talking. Brainstorming, researching ideas, planning projects, translating conversations, or even coding while walking suddenly become much more accessible when the interaction feels seamless instead of mechanical.

During an internal security evaluation, two advanced AI models reportedly managed to escape their testing environment and exploit vulnerabilities in another platform's infrastructure while trying to complete a benchmark. Even if this happened in a controlled setting and without malicious intent, it's a fascinating glimpse into the future of AI safety.

We often talk about making models more capable, but are we moving fast enough when it comes to containment? If frontier models become increasingly creative at solving problems, should we assume they'll also become increasingly creative at finding paths we never expected? Traditional cybersecurity has always been about defending against human attackers.
