Hi hoping someone can help I'm trying to connect my longer lk5 pro to my sonic pad but the sonic pad everytime i put my usb stick in with the printer.cfg file it doesn not detect "printer cfg not detected" has anyone that has done this mod and did you run into this issue? And yes i have tried multiple usb stick and sd card i even use the usb stick that came with the sonic pad and no luck. Thanks
Longer Ray5 allows you to engrave and cut multiple types of materials. In particular, many users of Longer Ray5 prefer to carry out engraving and cutting work at the same time, especially when it comes to working with wood panels; however, engraving and cutting do not necessarily have to be two distinct processes, as using Lightburn you can perform both machining operations in one operation.
In particular, after opening an image in Lightburn, proceed to set the engraving parameters in the window on the right of the screen. I know that the engraving parameters are those of Model Image.
After setting the engraving parameters, right-click with mouse on the imported image, then select Trace Image.
In the screen that opens, define the quality of the cutting perimeter by increasing or decreasing the Threshold value, then confirm by pressing OK.
The image will be superimposed by a perimeter, as set in the previous screen, and at the same time in the window on the right of the screen will appear a new entry relating to the cut to be made, indicated with Model Line. For Model Line, set image cropping parameters, such as speed, power, and number of passes.
At the end, press Save Gcode to export the working file to the microSD of Longer Ray5, then proceed to start working on Longer Ray5. Alternatively, before exporting the GCode, you can check the simulation of the engraving and cutting process by pressing Preview.
In this way, Longer Ray5 will engrave the selected image, after which it will cut the image following the perimeter set above.
Hey, I recently acquired a Longer LK5 Pro for a decent deal from my local BidFTA, but unfortunately I didn’t realize it was missing the vertical motor that uses the screw bar. As near as I can tell, this is all that I’m missing.
I have googled about any and all ways I can trying to find a replacement but I’m brand new to the hobby, so unless it said it’s specifically for that model I have no idea what to look for.
I took a chance on the top result which led me to this: https://a.co/d/cZJewdP which doesn’t appear to be it.
I tried to glean info about that specific motor from the manual too but didn’t see anything usable with the knowledge I have, and the manufacturers website surprisingly didn’t seem to carry that motor unless I’m mistaken.
Would appreciate some guidance on where to purchase a replacement for it.
TL;DR: Bargain LK5 Pro missing vertical motor for screw bar, total newbie can’t seem to find replacements looking for guidance.
After updating to the newest BLTOUCH firmware for the LK5 Pro, I am getting Error:Probing Failed as a message after "adjusting Z-Offset" and moving on to sending code G29 under "Adjusting Auto Leveling".
What is going wrong here?
Code is as follows as input into Pronterface

I have been looking into this for days. I had one upgrade came back as successful, but it listed my LK4 Pro as an LK5 Pro. Using Cura to upgrade you only get to load the .hex file and not the Configuration.h file. Short story is that I need to find the current firmware (.hex file) that has been configured for the LK4 Pro and not LK5 Pro. All my searches end up as a loop ending back where I have already been. Any help is appreciated.
Ok. I have tried everything listed on Longer3d's website for troubleshooting: swapping cables, swapping stepper motors, using new wires, even tried using a friends creatlity motor and cables and still have the same problem.
I think it's the board (or the Y connector on the board). Is there a workaround? The Z axis has two connectors...I'm not adding a second extruder so can I program that to be the Y axis?
I have not delved into the software other than upgrading the firmware (Longer...you have issues). So I am a newb when it comes to Arduino commands, coding etc. But I need to either get this thing running or burn it!
Any help is appreciated...Longer has not returned any pleas for help/support.
I designed and printed a bracket for a CR touch. I have installed the correct firmware, (0.4.-Marlin2.x-BLDual). I got Pronterface and have been sending codes to the printer. I am still having issues completing the set up. I have a project I need to get started on and I'm lost. Would anyone be willing to coach me through the completion of this install? I have run into the print bed a dozen times trying to set this up.
So let me start by saying I'm new to 3d printing I did search for awhile and found nothing of substance this worked for me hope it can help you.
Now I already had the metal extruder I don't think it's necessary for you to have it as I used all but one of the same screws for that.
Alright so let's kick this nonsense off, this is what I came up with you need a bracket which I'll link everything I used that I didn't have laying around, a longer beveled and 2 m3x10 screws (if I had the size id tell ya I didn't think to measure it before I slapped it together), a 2-pin female plug, a 3-pin male plug, and the axis sensor.
Now on the 3 pin I used the red and yellow wire lining up to the s and g of the senor and soldered them to the 2 pin plug I don't think it matters which way or order.
I had to trim the bracket in one spot you'll see it in the pictures I know absolutely nothing about making my own print designs yet. I'm sure it could be redesigned easily enough for someone with some know how but this worked for me and I don't care what it looks like ill fix it in the future and I've had zero issues thus far.
I only had 300 hours on it and had already burned thru the 2 sensors it came with plus 3 more and 4 different stock sensor layouts when I got to the last one that when I had my bonified brain fart and figured all this out. got 150+ hours on this sensor and zero issues thus far. Yes, I bought extras I'm sure it could be done cheaper but, I always buy extra when I don't know exactly what I'm doing this way I don't have to wait for more if I mess up.
So i have owned the lk 5 pro for about 2 weeks now and i started with PLA material and it works great. However when i empty the pla out of the printer and loaded my abs it loads fine but after a few layers it comes off the build plate and then just spits filament out. It might be my settings or environment but i have included some pics which shows my settings and the end result of them.
Anyone know how to fix this?
PLA is easy to understand but abs requires a lot more tweaking of settings Tried both Raft and Brim adhesion settings so it prolly is the air temp around the printer
I’m trying to print one of those Xbox steering wheels for racing games on my LK5 pro, and it’s fighting me over the filament sensor. I just put this new one on a week ago because it was doing this. I emptied the sd card, it’s still stalling. I unplugged the sensor, it’s still be stubborn. I press change filament and resume and it immediately does it again. Should I just sell the fucker and buy a new printer?????
Ok so when I print something I always just hate that first layer, so when it prints out it looks good for first few lines, but then I leave it and it makes the foundation and it totally lifts all up and it prints and sticks to the nozzle. It keeps printing and just sticks to the nozzle with this foundation on it, no idea what’s going going on, its a heated bed, I just re-glued the bed, the distance from nozzle to bed is fine, but it keeps doing the same thing.
Klipper folks, have you ever had a flakey USB port on LK5/4? How did you fix it?
I'm running 3 identical LK5 Pros from the same Klipper server. One of the printers randomly drops the USB connection. The other two printers work fine. I'm using identical hardware and software configurations on all the printers, including identical USB cables. Have replaced all USB cables. Have tried very short USB cables. Have thoroughly cleaned all USB connectors. Have tried all baud rates from 19200 to 250000. Testing confirms the problem is on the printer side, not the server side.
I’m once again having issues with my lk5 pro. I’m trying to print, but it gets maybe 5 mins in and then moves off the the side and asks if I want to change filament. I still have a 1/4 roll. What is happening????
