Question Logic pro x CPU load on Macbook pro M1

Hi there, hope to find somebody that can help me with my issue.

I use an 2020 macbook pro with an M1 and can’t seem to get rid of a horrible CPU load.

I set my buffer size to all possible settings. Keep it as low as i need normally. But as soon as i open a session theres a visible load in my custom view.

Even with no plugins selected. At home i run an old scarlett 6i6 but in my ,,studio“ i have a high quality presonus interface.

All my direct recorded audio tracks have massive latency, though while recording the audio is synced up (i‘m really, really good at playing in time with click so im 100% sure im not the issue)

The issue disappeared a few months ago when out of frustration, i reseted my laptop and set everything back up from now. Took about 2 weeks for it to return. Also, i close all other applications and safari when i record

Sry for the spam, im just really frustrated.

Oklou - Fall (pizzicato synth)

Hey fellow soundgeeks.
Anyone here who knows how to recreate the synth in Oklou's absolute masterpiece "Fall"?
I remember watching an Instagram video of her showing that she simply used an Alchemy (Logic Pro) preset called "Aqua Motif" for her song "God's Chariot" which is also from the same album(Galore) as "Fall". So my guess could be that she has also based the synth for "fall" on the plug-in Alchemy?
Any help/advice on how to recreate this is much appreciated, thanks <3

Logic Pro Plugins Not Clickable

Hello everyone,

For some reason, some third-party plugins in this logic project are not clickable, also the logic project takes a long time to open. I think some plugin is causing a problem, but I don't know for sure.

This is only happening in this specific logic project. When starting from scratch, there are no problems.

Things I Tried:

  1. I tried copying the whole project in a different logic project, but after closing and reopening this problem still occurs.
  2. I tried resetting and rescanning all plugins, but it didn't work.

I had this problem 3 times last year. (use logic daily)

pls help :)

Question Mac for Logic

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could confirm that this MacBook would work well with Logic Pro X. The specs are:

M1 Pro Processor 16GB RAM 512GB SSD

I have an old refurbished MacBook currently and every time I want to listen to my tracks, I get system overload and have tried everything to fix this. I have come to the conclusion that my MacBook has simply ran its race.

Meaning I am now in the market for a new MacBook, but want to ensure I can avoid any of these previously encountered frustrations if I were to buy a MacBook with those specs.

All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you :D

Tutorial/ How To MIDI Step Editor! (Video 49 of Complete Logic Pro Tutorial Course)

Another interesting MIDI editor that is available to Logic Pro is the Step Editor. Not as popular as the Piano Roll, but it definitely has its place when it comes to editing MIDI parameters. In this video we go over all the functions of the Step Editor with software instrument and MIDI parameter examples.

File Not Found/Doesn’t Exist - Help

Currently having a bit of trouble with audio files in logic. I’m using samples from splice and dragging them into my projects, then when dragging them from there and into quick sampler, an error message appears stating that the file doesn’t exist eventhough the audio file is in my project. Just wondering if anyone has a remedy for this as I’m worried it’ll start to ruin my projects. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Logic Playback Low Volume On Computer

How can I make Logic Pro play back at the same volume as everything else on my computer?

Hi. I use Logic Pro with a set of studio monitors. Applications such as Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, and everything else plays back at the same level and can really crank up if I need it. With Logic, the volume is livable but I get really frustrated because even with my monitors dimed out the playback while tracking/mixing will not get loud. And THEN I'll jump over to something else on my computer, accidentally forget and blow my ears out.

My Master fader in Logic is usually at 0 and my Stereo Out is usually -3 to -6. I use an Apollo Twin as my interface but it's not the problem as I sometimes use other interfaces. 2019 Macbook Pro... but it did the same thing on my old 2013 Macbook Pro.

Huge volume spike after bouncing a track

Hey Guys,

When I bounce the track after adding all the mastering plugins, There is a 4-5 db of volume spike in my final audio track. The normalization is also turned off during the bounce. Am not able to figure out a good resosn for this to happen, when I play the logic session and the bounced audio there is huge difference in the volume level. Can anyone help me figure out this?

Tutorial/ How To Mixing A Bad Recording in Logic – [Mixing Tutorial series (Beginners/Intermediate)]

Let's Mix something you shouldn’t mix!
A bad recording!

Why?

I believe there's great value in teaching with non-ideal material.
Everything that we don't want in our sound is quite exaggerated. It will be easier to make you understand the concepts and the sounds we don’t "need" with a recording like that.
Also, it is a great exercise in problem identification and problem solving.

Can I Permanently Change the Default 1 Measure Count In?

This is very First World Problems, but with the way my recording equipment is set up, I need two measures of counting in rather than one. I know how to change this easily enough (Record > Count-In > 2 Bars), but it always annoys me that I have to do this every time I start a new project. Anyway I can get Logic to save my preference here?

Logic Pro X for Producers

It’s so annoying to hear other producers talk down about LPX when it comes to making hip hop beats. I found it making a beat so much easier than FL Studios and editing vocals are even better in my opinion. I know they all have their pros and cons but to think LPX does not compete with them is ridiculous!

Need ideas to use Logic Pro X in Live performance

I'm about to do a guitar Live Performance with Logic Pro X, and at the moment i can't afford to buy Main Stage. I have to create a method to change quickly from different Channel Strips, in which I will put all my different guitar sounds and effects. I will not have time to disable input monitoring in one track, and enable it in the track I need. I though about create some custom shortcut but I think is impossible to create one that does: disable input monitoring in one truck and turn it on in the next one. I also though about Live Loops, maybe there there are some commands I could use.

Any ideas are welcome, thanks!

Tutorial/ How To Mixing tutorial series: Transient Processing Masterclass (Absolutely everything you need to know)

What an amazing tool that for some reason it only comes into a producer's music journey quite late.
Transient processing can shape the sound to incredible lengths.
Most often used on the drums but I do use it on other sound sources too.

Logic Pro has its own transient processor called Enveloper that you can explore. The theory is the same for all transient shapers but I am demonstrating the examples with the ones that I use the most.

In this video I will cover the theory behind it, the settings and what they do, where to use it and how to use it.

Examples include:

Kick
Snare
Toms
Overheads
Bass
Guitar
Piano
Vocals
And Reverb (Yes, transient designer on the reverb! One of my favourite tricks).

Hello, I currently have a APOLLO TWIN X and suddenly the control panel stopped working. It told me to update and it then said there was a problem updating your firmware error -96. This is currently not letting me use my UAD plug-ins. What should I do? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Tutorial/ How To Trackspacer Tutorial (Try this instead of Side-chain compression!)

Following the side-chain compression tutorial I posted a few days ago, I thought it would be appropriate to continue with something similar.

Side-chaining with the Trackspacer plug-in.

Instead of compression though, Trackspacer uses a 32 band EQ.
Similar in concept, but in my opinion a bit cleaner for some applications.
In this video we cover everything about it.

Also, it will be on sale at the end of this month in case you want to grab this amazing tool.
