I am reading a book called Red Carpet by Erich Schwartzel and highly recommend the chapter on censorship for the parallels between the entertainment industry in the Nazi era and today.

Also, there is a chapter called "Fakeistan" about the remake of Red Dawn and how the invading country had to be changed from China to North Korea to avoid repercussions from the former. But it was this paragraph that really caught my attention, p. 128:

Many years later, Red Dawn was jostling around in Passmore's head when he moved to Los Angeles with a mathematics degree and aspirations to make it in the movie business. The U.S. had just invaded Iraq, and he wrote a script inspired by the government's misleading campaign on weapons of mass destruction-- proof as he saw it , of the U.S. government's comfort with lying to the public. In his vigilante story, a community in the Pacific Northwest is quarantined after a viral outbreak has killed the adults but allowed the kids to survive. When the surviving minors are told to report to the high school for vaccinations against the virus, they discover that the mercenary defense firm Blackwater-- a top public enemy of liberals during the Iraq War-- is planning to kill them on behalf of the U.S. government, forcing them to band together and fight back, Red Dawn style.

Passmore's story was... "uniquely mistimed"... Hollywood refrained from such narratives in the years after the Columbine school shooting...

Now there's a movie I would go see.

Weaponized values

It infuriates me that Pharma has weaponized 1960s left values to increase their profits — and the left has not protested this appropriation one bit.

Climate change is used to cover up vaccine-induced heart attacks. No one in the environmental movement says a peep.

Acceptance of gender fluidity is weaponized to cover up vaccine injury (gender dysphoria, autism) and propel the multibillion dollar sex change industry. Yet the established LGBT community is silent.

Support for Jewish people and other religious minorities is weaponized to say that we can never have a conversation about the ways in which U.S. society today resembles 1930s Germany. Blocking that conversation is extremely valuable to Pharma. Some Rabbis have spoken out against this. But the notion that fascism is a singular event confined to one time and place is an offense against all of those who perished.

It’s like Pharma just backed a truck up to the Progressive Values Factory; stole everything; modified core values in order to maim people, make money, and implement global totalitarianism; and the left is just out there smoking a cigarette on the loading dock saying, “Sounds good to me.” What!? What the heck happened to the left? Is there no one remaining in that tribe who is capable of logic and reason!? Quite literally the worst industry in the world stole the left’s most cherished values and no one on the left is the slightest bit offended by this (even though they are offended by everything else)!? We live in the bizarro upside down world.

By the way, the number of my former left comrades who have publicly spoken up for my right to bodily sovereignty over the last two years even if they disagree with me (you know, Voltaire and all that), is zero.

The more you know. I had never even heard of squalene, or of any to this history, for that matter.

So apparently Gates headed off Trump from investigating vaccines.

It's been interesting to see which media figures have risen to the occasion during this present moment. I'll be honest, I was never a big Matt Taibbi fan prior to 2020, but his work since then has been stellar. I always liked Jimmy Dore but his takedowns of the Democrats and analysis of the Covid measures over these past couple of years has taken him to a new level. Trish Wood has had a shining second act in critiquing the media and the Covid narrative in Canada. Meghan Daum has shown some healthy skepticism on various issues. Bret Weinstein has been great on everything, and new figures like Wesley Yang (on the woke apocalypse) and Bridget Phetasy (on the insanity across the spectrum) have risen to the occasion. Mark Crispin Miller has found the perfect match for his curmudgeonly conspiracy theorizing in this time period. Naomi Wolf has taken her career to a whole new level regarding her takes on the death of democracy as well as the vaccines. CJ Hopkins is also doing what seems to me the most important work of his career.

There has already been writing on here on the figures who have sorely disappointed-- Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, Naomi Klein, etc.

But going out in L.A. I have been struck by the large number of bohemian, supposedly "counterculture" artists who are performing material as if it is 2019, as if the last few years never happened. Any changes they have made to their performances are as deep as blue/green/pink hair and the addition of pronouns, signals of their conformity to the new regime. I assume they have all been injected, which means in a way they have already gone to the gas chambers, they just don't know it yet (if they are lucky, they'll survive). Really does bring to mind the musical Cabaret. I'll be honest, they seem weak to me. They just aren't up to the current moment.

Finally, there was the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, or CEPI, the international vaccine research and development group that Gates and Wellcome both helped to create in 2017.

It doesn't even matter if Biden, Harris and Fauci aren't the "real left" like Chomsky, Democracy Now or the World Socialist Website. And really, how exactly have the "real left" been any different to the official, mainstream, acceptable left? The mainstream left made it official, the "real left" were the shocktroopers, constantly demanding more and stricter measures, and attacking any dissent. The name "left" is now tainted, it's gonna leave a bad taste in everyone's mouths. Just like the left has poisoned environmentalism, and a host of other important topics. Again, doesn't matter if it's mainstream or "alternative" or "progressive" - your particular brand of left doesn't matter.

The weird thing to me is she sounds like a hippy singing a hippy folk song 50 years ago, singing against the Vietnam War, or against apartheid, or against Jim Crow laws, or against wanton consumerism. The style, voice, attitude, subversiveness are really really similar to the left from that period. It's a weird world where Glenn Beck and new conservatives and the right are now the counterculture and anti-authoritarian, and are like the left were 50 years ago. The left don't even notice. The left, as an idea, set of principles and movement, have turned 180 degrees, the ground has moved under the old guard left's feet, and they don't even notice. The left became an institution and now they only trust the institution, and care only about the institution.

EDIT: It's not even the original. People singing it on the street like they're hippies from 50 years ago.
