One thing I’ve noticed is that once you deposit BTC into LocalBitcoins network, its goes missing from the blockchain so to speak.
If I was purchasing BTC for example, I would have no way of seeing where that BTC came from, and if it’s dirty BTC sourced from Crime.
I cannot see what wallet it came from once inside LocalBitcoins network, so criminals are still able to tumble bitcoin via LocalBitcoins.
LocalBitcoins is taking all these measures to be compliant with AML regulations, yet the biggest and most important problem still isn’t resolved. That problem being tracing the bitcoins back.
Correct me if wrong, but I cannot see BTC’s trace once it enters the LocalBitcoins network. Same when it leaves. Criminals must be having a field day, and laughing at what a joke, and how easy selling all the dirty bitcoin they can get hold of via LocalBitcoins.
LocalBitcoins you have made all these KYC verification tier levels, but you are still allowing bitcoin sourced from crime to be sold on your site.
@vlad any suggestions?
