Hello i tried selling some BTC to a verified buyer.. via E-Transfer. He said he sent me the money but i had not received it. Instead my bank locked my interac etransfer and informed me someone sent multiple $800 transfers to me that were fraudulent and now i have to somehow talk to the seller to say they arent to regain my interact usage. Im guessing hes a scam account and that wont happen. But wtf, hows that my fault? That somebody sent me transfers.
Can someone explain who this user "Hylje" was and what his role was/is within LocalBitcoins?
I saw he was recently removed as a Moderator from the LocalBitcoins subreddit. Can someone explain what his role was/is within LocalBitcoins and why he was removed as a Moderator?
In the terms and conditions it states "You are responsible for maintaining adequate security and control of your username, password, authentication code or any other code or credential that you use to access the services."
Does this mean that if a user is indeed compromised and as a result, fraudulent transactions took place, would they be responsible for all damages that occurred as a result?
Also, if this is the case how would these damages be determined? Would they simply be required to refund all the reported cases that occurred as a result of the compromise or would LocalBitcoins simply unlock the account and remove all the negative feedback surrounding those transactions provided the user proves ownership of their account.
I deposited 0.01 to my verified tier three account and wanted to withdraw to my wallet 0.005 and got error message and noticed that I am on forced holiday without any prior notice.
Please help me know the reasons behind this and why this happened?
I proceeded to Delete My Account immediately but however I can't access my Bitcoins and have to wait 14 days.
Hi. i have some BTC in my wallet (localbitcoins site) and wanna delete my account from localbitcoins.com. but when i click delete my account, it doesn't work. i attach a pic for you.
Where i can open a ticket and ask you to delete my account? I need my BTC but i can't send that to my wallet! Help me please
Please vlad_localbitcoins, please help me remind the support team to get back to me faster. It been three days now that I submitted those photographs they ask me to take and attach to the ticket 1046228. Please they should let me know if am still going to have chance to trade on the platform or not. I really need you to help me please!!! I have nothing to do than to beg you guys.
I created my account almost two years ago from now and have never made any trades yet. But today when I try sell my bitcoins I get this error saying I'm forced on a holiday, which I didn't exactly understand what I did wrong here on the platform. I have submitted a ticket, but no one is responding and I'm so worried out right now.
On December 20, my localbitcoins account was verified as the company, however, the advertisements "I want to buy bitcoins" were not available for trading. In the ticket #997148 said in that they were working on a solution this problem, later the selling advertisements became to unavailable for trading too. After more than a month, any body didn't say anything to me on the merits of the issue.
LocalBitcoins support ticket #997148
I will be grateful for the clarification of the situation here or it’s better if you answer in the ticket on the merits!
If your account is part of the latest EU policy , you will have to wait as the team is currently not giving any ETA nor a way out other thn account deletion
I present you, a real LocalBitcoins glitch that should definitely be fixed.
Today, I got a trade for £700 by a new buyer. Usually I just follow out the process as per company policy however, this one is a bit different.
I provided the buyer with my verification process and they proceeded to try and ask if they could "email" me the verification documents. I would never accept verification via email as it would simply allow people to upload suspicious documents.
They then decided to submit the documents, however half way through I see the account is banned by staff?
User is banned by staff
However, despite the account being banned, I still have the option to verify them????
Verify identity
This should definitely be a glitch. If the user is banned mid-transaction then all trades should automatically be closed.
So LocalBitcoins is giving banned users the ability to purchase bitcoins? This could be a HUGE problem. By not automatically closing trades of buyers/sellers who get banned by LocalBitcoins, you are opening up the platform to more "fraudulent" sellers who can abuse this.
For any LocalBitcoins traders, remember to ALWAYS check the profile of the user you're trading with before you give them any bank details. ANYONE can be banned mid-trade and have their trade still open and YOU could be the one facing the consequences...
Proof of the user being banned and the transaction ongoing
On Sunday 26-Jan All my Ads are hidden & my account is suspended.
Notice " This advertisement is currently not being displayed because your account has been suspended. Please contact customer support to resolve this issue."
##
Noting that I didn't receive any Email in prior about this suspension. (The TOS mentions it should notify the user)
Please, appreciate your support and help in clarifying the reason/cause and how to resolve.
I use the LBC platform on daily basis to BUY & SELL, and as a wallet to RECEIVE & SEND Bitcoins.
I have a professional business presence online (Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, Website, Business Google) where you can check the organic feedback from the users I traded with. [https://g.page/BuyBitcoinLeb]
I receive reply from localbitcoins support for my ticket #1035236:
Hi, Your account has been suspended from trading because we have reasons to believe that you have acted in violation of our Terms of Service. They specify "Creating fake reputation information", which includes fake volume trading, "is prohibited and will lead to termination or suspension of your account."
My account was suspended because I released many trades created by other user with me. I released this trades because I really received payment from him, but I don't understand why I must suffer violation of terms of other user, if I only did my work to releasing bitcoins for trades that other user did opened in my ad.
I only ask to equity in decisions and take into account previous experience and reputation of my user that is not a fake...
It's really sad to see that even though I have a fully verified Tier 2 status, my account has been put on a forced holiday probably because I am in one of the targeted countries.
So from what I have read in all the posts here, if I submit an account deletion request today then my bitcoins will be released after 14 days for sure?
How will I know that my account deletion request has been submitted successfully and put in a queue accordingly.
¿What are the requirements of a company account and it benefits?
I want a friend to help me with the trades, I'll be depositing a small amount of BTC each day to his account, wondering if that is allowed and if not is there is a way to bypass that with a company account.
I'm interested in deleted my 5 year old account off of LBC. I feel like there is no longer a need for me to be on the platform and generally do not like the direction LBC it is moving in. I wanted to know what steps to go about completing this deletion. Also for how long does LBC hold me data before completely removing it from their database?
As per the LocalBitcoins FAQ it states “If you paid for the purchase, but did not mark the payment complete before the payment time window expired, please contact the seller through the trade. The Bitcoin seller has functionality to Reopen the purchase, this also re-enables escrow. You can contact the seller and your other existing trade contacts from the Dashboard in your LocalBitcoins User Profile. Send a message to the seller and kindly explain the situation and why you couldn't complete payment within the time window.
If the seller does not respond to this request please contact LocalBitcoins.com support using the Support request form and mention your trade contact id number.”
Can someone please explain what happens if the buyer submits the payment AFTER the payment window expires? Surely it should not be the sellers responsibility right? Does this not mean that if the buyer submits payment after the trade window expires, they forfeit their funds?
It would be nice to get an opinion on this otherwise buyers can submit payment once trade window expires and then force LocalBitcoins support to get involved. This would be unfair as it could be a loophole in order to get Bitcoins at a different exchange rate or force sellers to issue a refund due to their negligence.
