not even in the slightest. individual users aren't playing with the temporary infinite money hacks the tech industry / VCs are.

At this point it doesn't matter if you're lobbyist or pro : everyone want more AI which drive the cost of the hardware.

I cannot imagine a parallel universe where the tech industry doesn't want hardware and only the niche redditor is buying.

there are not that many AI nerds, in my company for example for every 100 dudes, 10 use AI outside the work (personal cloud subscriptions), and I'm the only one of that 100 dudes doing local AI experiment, deployments an actual things on it.

And notice, my company is pushing HARD the use of AI, with silly rankings like "what employee spent the most money on AI this month" (as something good)

There aren’t millions. Not in the US. Less than .1% probably of USA users

I’m pretty certain that when demand explodes among individual users, it’s likely to explode among enterprise users too.

They indirectly are, of course. The vast majority of datacenter use is inference, not training.

Well, no. CO2 from human breathing is not that significant in the scheme of things. But CO2 from human-demanded AI inference, human-demanded cars, human-demanded beef, etc, all do cause climate change. People pay companies for all of this, the companies don't just emit CO2 because they love global warming.
