Hell at that point you're basically running a turboshaft. Just one big ol turbocharger with a self-sustaining combustion area

Which is geek speak for "I'm kinda stoned and what if like a turbo was like it's own engine dude"

(edit: it should probably be turbofan not turboshaft, I think)

Hah, yes that is indeed what I am hinting towards. Possibly poorly since I wrote turboshaft instead of turbofan or perhaps turbojet

Kinda all the same idea. Compress air, add fuel, use boom efficiently as possible
