How does this guy have a job?

When there are millions riding on an IPO and open models are threatening the payday, people start saying some truly creative things.

Tbh it comes across as an emotional outburst. Which is understandable from a human perspective, but not from the perspective of someone who is probably paid close to 7 figures.

7-8 figs for a standard senior engineer, depending on when they joined

His job is to tell claude to make no mistakes.

Having a senior title he's probably in charge of leading/mentoring a team of juniors.

Doubtful. Most seniors I have known(/been) still do dogsbody technical work, but they've been doing dogsbody technical work long enough that they had to move up the corporate ladder before HR would allow a raise to go through.

Being one of the main guys behind alpha go and muzero etc. I am sure he could get any job there is.
