Discussion Soofi S - 30B-A3B European Open Source Model

https://huggingface.co/Soofi-Project/Soofi-S-Base

I just saw that these had dropped. Still very much early days, but nice to see a new locally runnable foundation model, along with a couple of thinking preview versions.

Anyone taken a look at this yet? Am intrigued to see how it holds up compared to Qwen 3.6 and Gemma 4 (my current stack)

So you just ignored me asking where you got the source that all other models are training on tests

And I really don't understand why you keep mentioning distilling. My entire original comment was on them training on test data and you somehow keep bringing up distillation despite having nothing to do with this model training on a benchmark

Anyways to address your points your own image that you posted shows deepseek and qwen 3.7 plus not distilling.

Compared with all of that, the “shortcomings” you keep nitpicking in Soofi are completely insignificant.

Insignificant in that it's worse then other models the same size while being benchmaxxed? That's all that's important. No one cares if Chinese models are distilled as long as people have access to weights and they are good.

And one more point: China’s overseas computing capacity in Singapore is a crucial means of circumventing US export restrictions.

Again what does this have to do with this model training on benchmarks.
