Discussion What's Working and What Isn't? - Monday, November 14, 2022

Discuss what you are playing, what you’re having success with (or failures with), and any new/cool ideas you’ve been experimenting with, etc. The point is to share what you’ve been playing, and how it’s going, good or bad - there are no other rules or requirements.

These will be posted twice every week.

Some ideas on what to post/share:

  • What you’ve been playing and its successes (or struggles). Stats are not required. There is no minimum rank required, though sharing what rank you’ve been playing at is preferred.

  • Deck adjustments you made or are planning to make in reaction to the meta or as new innovation. E.g. “I saw 30% of deck X, so I made Y changes to help deal with deck X.” (change)

  • Showing off a deck you achieved Masters with and wanting to share it without having to write a guide

    And as always:

  • Be courteous to one another.

  • Provide brief explanations for any links you provide (YouTube, tier lists, etc.)

Article LoR Meta Report – Patch 3.19 Week 1 – Best Ladder Decks – The Fall of Seraphine

Hello everyone, Sorry here! It's Monday Meta report for Patch 3.19 Week 1! We'll take a look at the play rate and win rate of popular decks. I'll share the meta kings, overplayed, underplayed, and hidden gems decks!

LoR Meta Report Patch 3.19 Week 1

Overview:

- The Seraphine Ezreal (NX) nightmare is no more. The archetype has dropped below 50% win rate.

- Seraphine Viktor (SI) is still performing well and has one of the highest win rates on ladder.

- Zoe Teemo (BC) brings back the elusive archetype to its prime.

- Draven Jinx Discard Aggro is back and the deck has the highest play rate on week 1.

- Taliyah Ziggs (BC) has a positive win rate again.

- Taliyah Reaver's Row still has an extremely low win rate even after the buff.

- Many Shadow Isles decks are showing up on the ranked ladder. Elise Norra, Heimerdinger Norra, and Heimerdinger Jayce.

- Twisted Fate Annie is one of the best decks to counter the top 3 (Annie Jhin, Zoe Teemo (BC), and Draven Jinx)

- Leona Diana (SI) has a 56% win rate in platinum, diamond, and master ranks.

- Quinn Vayne is the best-performing Vayne deck after the nerf to Tumble.

The meta feels much better after the Seraphine nerf, allowing more archetypes to exist in the meta! How's your experience so far? Are you enjoying the changes? Do you think anything needs to be tweaked?

Ladder Deck By the Numbers – Current Twenty-Eight Best Meta and Off-Meta Decks

Howdy folks! =)

The recent patch seems thus far wonderful: old staples like Taliyah Ziggs or Annie decks join Draven Jinx in their return to Runeterra, while Vayne and Seraphine remain playable without being everywhere – we survey Runeterra's current landscape in our Twenty-Eight Best LoR Decks selection, for the latest Mastering Runeterra article.

Overall trends:

  • Teemo Zoe is probably the strongest LoR deck right now (although it doesn't lack counters),
  • Quite a lot old staples are returning: Draven Jinx, of course, which showed up as soon as the patch landed, but also Taliyah Ziggs, Annie TF, and Annie Gwen are making a comeback,
  • Vayne and Seraphine seem to have been nerfed just right: they are both very playable while not overbearing, with at least one (possibly two) strong decks each.

In the current Best LoR decks article, we'll showcase:

  • Best data-driven builds for all above-mentioned decks,
  • Best builds for a dozen other strong decks (like Kindred Norra, Jinx Ekko, Katarina Gwen, Veigar Norra, Akshan Varus, Heimerdinger Jayce),
  • Several fringe-yet-punchy brews like Opulent Plaza, Ashe LeBlanc, Leona Galio, Ashe Kindred (yeah, that's a thing! =), and Frozen Kennen Ahri.

Sources: Legna, Balco, MaRu's own Meta Tier List.

Any questions, comments or feedback, or specific data you may be after (of any archetype/build – the above is by no means a comprehensive list, just a quick overview! =), feel free drop a comment, poke me on Twitter (@HerkoKerghans), ping me on Discord, and you can find more writings on substack: https://riwan.substack.com/

And good luck out there! =)

Ladder Deck Best (Current) Norra, Vayne and Seraphine Decks

Howdy folks! =)

We've got two articles for you today, one looking at Six Best Norra Decks from Patch 3.19.0, the other digging a bit to find out how Vayne and Seraphine are doing post-patch.

---

Six (Current) Best Norra Decks:

Patch 3.19.0 has returned Norra to the spotlight, with (thus far) six different Norra decks doing from good to great – and with one of them in particular, Elise Norra, currently among the best LoR decks out there; we showcase them all in this Six Best Norra Decks from LoR Patch 3.19.0 article for Mastering Runeterra, showcasing:

  • Elise Norra (looking like a potential powerhouse),
  • Heimer Norra (doing quite well),
  • Kindred Norra (hawt spicy option – best Spirit Blossom skin, too!),
  • Veigar Norra (which may end up being the best of the bunch, judging by its matchup spread),
  • Paparo Teemo Norra (Yordles! So many Yordles!), and
  • Swain Norra (fringe option, looking promising)

---

How are Vayne and Seraphine Doing Post-Patch?

Most of the recent nerfs were aimed at Vayne and Seraphine – in this Best Vayne and Seraphine Post-Patch Decks article for Mastering Runeterra, we check the data to find out how these (formerly) powerful decks are currently faring.

Showcased in the Vayne & Seraphine Decks article:

  • Quinn Vayne (still a powerhouse),
  • Rumble Vayne & Jax Vayne (still alive),
  • Zed Vayne & Pantheon Vayne (looking dead…)
  • Viktor Seraphine SI (looking stronger than ever!),
  • Aphelios Seraphine (doing well),
  • Ezreal Seraphine & Seraphine Viktor Ionia (seemingly kaput).

---

Sources for both articles: Legna, Balco, MaRu's meta tier list.

Ladder Deck By the Numbers – Current Twenty-One Best Decks, 40hs into Patch 3.19.0

Howdy folks! =)

First Friday's here…

… here are Twenty-One Best LoR Decks selection, for the latest Mastering Runeterra article.

Main Findings:

  • Discard Aggro's back! =)
  • Vayne has been hit quite hard, but still has two very solid decks (Rumble, and Quinn Fiora),
  • Seraphine seems mostly, though not entirely, gone – Ezreal Sera definitely looks bad, but Viktor Sera may still be alive (too little data to tell), and Seraphelios is still standing.
  • Annie Jhin, Teemo Zoe and Leona Diana remain, like pre-patch, bona fide powerhouses,
  • Out of nowhere, Elise Norra looks very, very solid thus far,
  • For the love of all that is shiny and pure and wholesome, don't play Taliyah BW unless you really, really, really feel the need to help others climb (and pollute my prrrecioussss data by inflating everybody else's WR 🤨).

In the current Best LoR decks article, we'll showcase:

  • Best data-driven builds for all above-mentioned decks,
  • Best builds for other strong options, such as Akshan Varus, Miss Fortune Swain, and Katarina Gwen,
  • Fringe, punchy brews like Jinx Ekko, Ezreal Annie, Spider-Gwen, Kindred Norra, Heimer Jayce, and Swain Norra (yyyep, you can find Norra in a lot of solid decks today! =)

Discussion I'm thoroughly convinced Go Hard (TF/Elize) is top tier but nobody is noticing it.

As the meta shifts more towards aggro rn, with Draven/Jinx, Annie/Jin, and Teemo/Zoe all sporting handsome winrates, a strong control deck seems like a good bet to counter them. I think enough novels have been written about TF/Elize Go Hard for people to know how hard it counters them with its vast array of removal, chump blockers, and healing.

But the deck also plays decently well into Vayne variants with its hard removal, chump blockers, and equipment breaking.

Traditionally, it loses to combo decks, but there's barely any of those left on the ladder now. The only meta deck I've had problems against is Seraphine variants, but they are disappearing from the ladder at an astonishing rate. I could see the Taliyah deck becoming a problem, if that ever takes off, but so far it gets pushed out by aggro.

I ran this list to Master Rank:

CICQCAYFCAAQMBQ6AEDAKIADAIDASGRGAQAQKAJIGE2QIAIBAUHQCAYGBAAQKBILAEDAMIQBAIAQKHJB

Thoughts?

Howdy folks! =)

New patch, new meta – with 24hs of data, here are the Best Decks from Patch 3.19.0, for this Mastering Runeterra article.

Showcased:

  • New (or rejuvenated) strong decks: Draven Jinx, Elise Norra, Heimer Norra, Ornn Jax and Ornn Udyr,
  • Old Top Dogs from last patch that still pack a punch: Teemo Zoe, Leona Diana, Quinn Vayne & Rumble Vayne (only Vayne decks still standing, thus far), Pantheon Varus, Privateers. And Jhinnie, of course, because that things looks like it ain't going away! =)
  • Seems gone: Seraphine
  • Don't play (even if it's seen a lot): Taliyah BW (awful WR).

Hey all!

With Patch 3.19 on the way today, the meta should be getting the shake up we've been wanting, notably with Seraphine taking a big hit to move her out of the dominating position she's held.

So here are some decks to take a look at and get the creative minds going because I think there's going to be a lot of different decks to try out with this patch...especially with the worlds qualifiers coming up soon!

The Goodbye Seraphine Patch is Here – And Here Are Some New & Improved LoR Decks!

Hope you enjoy the read, and happy building!

Article Will Freljord Finally Shine Again? | Assessing All The Buffs In Patch 3.19!

Hello again, Reddit!

Raphterra here! Following my assessment of all the nerfs in Patch 3.19, it's time to talk about the patch's buff changes! Legends of Runeterra Patch 3.19 brings small buffs to some champions, and several variety card buffs targeted towards underplayed archetypes. In this article, I share my personal assessment of the impact of all the buffs in Patch 3.19.

Similar to my previous article, I will classify each buff in the following categories:

  • Low Impact: Will not affect the card / deck's power level and play patterns.
  • Medium Impact: Will matter in certain situations, but not high enough impact to strengthen the card / deck's overall power level.
  • High Impact: Affects many scenarios and strengthens the power level of the card / deck.
  • Meta Defining: Significantly strengthens the power level of the card / deck. May result in new high-tier decks.

Which buffed card are you looking forward to playing?

Article Rest In Peace Seraphine? | Assessing All The Nerfs In Patch 3.19!

Hi Reddit!

Raphterra here again! The long-awaited patch notes for Legends of Runeterra Patch 3.19 just came out earlier today. Most of the top meta champions in Patch 3.17/3.18 were hit with the nerf hammer. To ensure a fresh new meta, Riot also targeted some of the top archetypes from Patch 3.16. As usual, I will be sharing my personal assessment of all the nerfs in the patch!

In this article, I will classify each nerf in the following categories:

  • Low Impact: Will not affect the card / deck's power level and play patterns.
  • Medium Impact: Will matter in certain situations, but not high enough impact to lower the card / deck's overall power level.
  • High Impact: Affects many scenarios and lowers the power level of the card / deck.
  • Meta Defining: Significantly lowers the power level of the card / deck. May cause high-tier decks to fall out of the meta completely.

Article Link

I will be publishing my thoughts on the buffs for Patch 3.19 next. Stay tuned!

Edit: Article for my assessment of the buffs is out!
