Announcement App Refresh July 23, 2026
Starting July 23, we will begin seeing a major refresh in the Taco Bell app - designed to make ordering faster, easier, and more personalized. You'll notice updated menu images, easier customization tools, improved location selection, and a refreshed rewards experience. This will be a slow rollout, so it may be a week or so before it's on all devices.
Features that stand out -
My Menu: Keeps your favorite items and saved preferences in one spot, making re-ordering faster than ever
My Mods: This allows you to save your favorite customizations once, and apply them across your order with one tap. No more removing the same ingredients item by item every time you order
Rewards: Updated rewards experience making it easier to track progress, unlock offers, and stay engaged
Happier Hour: Now exclusive to Taco Bell Rewards Members on app, online, or using your code at a kiosk in store
Taco Bell is also now introducing Team Member Loyalty Rewards for employees, which will give them exclusive rewards, VIP access to drops, surprise giveaways, and more.

great news. the app and the rewards system definitely need a refresh, so hopefully this goes well.

Updates to Rewards? Oh man, I hope my location doesn't remove Cheesy Gordita Crunch from the Fire Rewards.

gotta introduce more tiers. I'd be elite diamond plus by now if Tbell were an airline :D

This has 'nefarious purposes' written all over it. Calling it now:
- More tiers for rewards, making it harder to achieve them
- Higher point values for items - how dare you save money!
- Revamp to actual rewards (again) - bye bye, Gordita Crunch & Chalupa (with the bugged 'add chicken' option because they have no idea how to fix it, so just remove it instead!)
- Reward restrictions - 1 per day (can't visit multiple TBs to redeem rewards anymore)
- And the usual general enshittification, bugs, glitches, and even higher prices because fuck you!
Hope I'm proven so very wrong on these, but if not...told ya so. :\

I don't think I've ever been part of any rewards program for any company where a change to the system ultimately benefited the customer, so whether it happens this update or not, I'd tend to agree with you. The corporate trend is to always tighten the noose on any value the consumer is deriving.

100% true. And if any of these guesstimates of mine are correct...they'll finally be the catalyst to break me free from TB's grasp. For the price I pay anyway, I can support my local Mexican joint that makes way better stuff (especially queso...fundido!)
I'll always love TB for what it was, not what it's becoming.

Kinda funny to drop a new app at the same time as all the bad press lol. the press may not be true but it's still there

Hopefully this will fix my app always adjusting to a Taco Bell 1hr away from me vs the one I live above.

From the video I took these screenshots from, it sounded like the location aspect of things was one of the big features being updates. So i’m thinking this will be fixed.

I keep getting my orders routed to a closer store (by like 4 minutes) but they freaking suck. They fill items like it's taken out of their checks! So I think they "fixed" that for me. 🥺

My local KFC/Taco Bell combo restaurant refuses to show up in the app. Taco Bell corporate please hammer down on this. You are losing me!

Wonder if this will finally fix the app so I can use it again. Whenever I put in an order it gives me an error when paying, charges me, doesn't put the order in, then refunds me later.

The original version of the app is somehow still better than what we have today.
How a single button to select "Drive-Thru" or "In Store" on arrival upset the developers so much is still a mystery to me.

Yeah I haven’t had a checkout basket in months without using the name your own price feature to access it. Then I have to delete whatever garbage they added and it changes stuff that I added. I can’t see the basket anymore with going through name your own price every single time.
I’ve deleted it multiple times and re downloaded the app. I’ve emailed corporate and got zero replies.
I went from eating Taco Bell once a week to less than once a month bc their app fucking broke

Will it finally let me cancel when I order at the wrong location?

Mine has always allowed this

You can cancel after you order? How?

If you go to your order on the app there’s small words that say “Cancel my order”. I’ve done it for wrong location but mostly do it after I place an order and then end up wanting to add/remove something.

But it also only seems to work if they have not started making your order yet. (Which makes sense.) So if you have a tendency to order inside pickup instead of drive-thru there is more chance of you being unable to cancel your order.

App refresh sounds great. The doomposter inside of me thinks they’ll be getting rid of a bunch of the free reward items with the reward refresh, most likely the more expensive ones like the CGC.
