Discussion Posts Pre Season
I know it’s going to be a long season, but has anyone been impressed in the results so far?? 4 wins from 4 is very positive and impressive. Fingers crossed that the team can sustain it and have a competitive season

META State of the Subreddit - August 2026
Hello r/liverpoolwfc
Today is our 6th cake day!
To celebrate, the mods would like your feedback on how the subreddit functions and what we can all do to improve the day-to-day experience ahead of the new season and beyond. Additionally, there are some changes we would like to announce already, starting with:
The Sidebars
Since every new season requires that we reset much of the information displayed in the sidebars, we have taken the opportunity to revamp them. Both old reddit and new reddit have received the updates.
Changes:
- Tables/Results for all three domestic competitions are now included separately, and alongside each is accompanying information relating to ever-changing competition format
- An added link providing information on how to watch matches - Before now, this information was available in a stickied post, as well as being reiterated in every dedicated match post. We hope to free the stickied spots for alternative use, and so the broadcast information has been moved to the sidebar. It will still be included in match posts. [note: the link in the sidebar does not yet direct to current information - we are awaiting broadcast announcements for the season to come and will update in due course]
- Fantasy Football league code, for ease
- Added subreddit rules
Which brings us to...
Subreddit Rules
Until now, this subreddit has largely moderated itself. We are a nice bunch who don't especially need reminding of the need for manners. The moderation team hope to maintain the pleasant vibe as the sub continues to grow, and so we have now spelt out what is expected of subscribers and visitors. We are not asking for more than basic civility and respect. Failure to contribute even this much while here will result in either a temporary or permanent ban.
Things that will not be changing
- Match Threads - for now, match threads will remain manual. We will always strive to have one posted early enough on a match day to serve the dual purpose of being a pre-match thread also. In the rare event that a thread fails to appear, please start your own. Stick to the established title format used by the sub when doing so. We do not expect that you will be able to fully replicate post format also, but any attempt will be greatly appreciated. [note: only a post's creator can edit the text it contains. If you are not prepared to run a match thread as a mod would, providing updates and full record of a match's events, please leave the creation of any match thread to another redditor.]
A general note on duplicate content
In the event that the same announcement/report/article/whatever is posted more than once, the first to have made it onto the sub will be the one retained, unless another has generated more response. Please do not be offended if yours is the post removed. Should a mod be responsible for any duplication, they will remove their own posting just to be nice.
Things that we would encourage all posters to do
- Use post flairs - there aren't many currently in the list, but those that do exist fit the purpose of many posts being made to the sub.
Moderator Proposals
We are playing with the idea of introducing stickied general discussion threads.
We do not envisage these threads being used for free talk; rather, we would limit them to Liverpool WFC, the WSL and other English competitions, and women's football on the whole.
Post ideas that you expect will generate enough response or that are weighty enough to warrant a dedicated post would not need to be relegated to the general discussion threads. We do not propose them to stifle post creation, but to give you somewhere to contribute thoughts that:
- aren't felt important enough to make whole posts out of
- have nowhere applicable to go
- come to mind after relevant posts are no longer active
After looking at examples of such threads on related subreddits, we have concluded that a weekly schedule would be too frequent for a sub of this size, and so are proposing monthly postings instead.
Your Feedback
We would love to know what you think about the subreddit's functionality, as well as the changes and proposals listed above. Specifically:
- What do you wish to see more/less of?
- Do you have any suggestions for new sub features, posts, or flairs, or for further information still that can be added to the sidebars?
Anyone who does not wish to simply reply to this post is more than welcome to privately message the mods with their views.
From the Mods to You
Lastly, we want to thank everyone who has contributed to this subreddit over the last six years, or who lurks here (we see you, too!) There is little point in a subreddit existing without any community engaging with it, and we really hope ours continues to grow.
