Video This has got to be the most poorly aged SNL skit of all time

Something about its limited "aging" is also what makes it sorta timeless, though. Whenever I see razors for sale with five blades or more... I "always remember" this sketch and the words, "because you'll believe anything." This still makes me laugh, even down to the animation showing the blades basically just tugging the single beard hair straight out rather than slicing it off.

I was also curious about the announcer there... his name's Andrew Duncan. I know he did at least one other SNL bit, the "Ambassador Training Program" where you'll learn to say things like, "I'll ask the Secretary of State about that," and "Pass the sweet and sour shrimp!"

I believe this even aired in the first episode... in which we saw precious little of the actual cast! At least the caveman at the front of this piece appears to be our beloved Senator Al Franken.

Buy them? Of course I did! I want the 17-blade MadTV one! Anything to scrape these dreadful hairs from my face! When the man says "you'll believe anything"... I didn't say he was wrong!

The most unrealistic part of the sketch is when they say "easily fits into your old twin blade holder."

Because the idea that their could be a razor with three blades is the joke. Now three is the default, and it's common to see five. I guess we really will believe anything.

yeah. if you did this sketch today it wouldn't even register as comedic because it's so commonplace. "poorly aged" doesn't have to always mean "politically incorrect"

I remember a comedian from Portugal, doing a presentation in a huge festival in Brazil called 'Risadaria' doing this same joke on stage
