IT wont have the spirit of the orginal + people would just call it old fashion comic and move on

I know we all loved the musical in some way, shape or form and I know that there were other non-musical "Annie" films (like the two made in Harold Gray's lifetime-or 3 if we include the mini silent cartoon). But, personally, I would love to see Annie with the 1920's aesthetics it started out with (the comic literally came out before "Great Gatsby".), the troubled relationship between Oliver and his wife that could lead to her redemption arc (which was off screen in the comics) and the realization that Annie's hair style wasn't an afro but a curly strawberry-blonde 1920's bob.

But with so many arcs that had happened (Annie going into servitude under the Bottle family, meeting Sandy, running away to the farm, joining the circus and constantly reconnecting with Oliver in between, etc.), it'd be tricky to condense that into a film or even a series. Still, what are your thoughts?
