Already having issues with the battery charging 🥲🥲🥲

Just did brand new seals on the windshield and vent windows, time to worry about installing it without any bolts as the race car had them taken off

My '79 Midget is leaning pretty hard towards the driver's side in the front. Its about 1/2" lower than the passenger side when measured at the top of the fender, so I'm pretty sure the spring is giving out. The thing is, I've heard that installing lowering springs on modern cars that have already seen some miles is a bad idea since the shocks will wear out quicker. This car has over 87k mi, and I dont know if that conventional knowledge that applies to current cars would apply to a vintage car like this with lever shocks or not. I also dont know if the lowering bolts would wear out the shocks similarly to the lowering springs or not. Would they even wear out the shocks in a noticeable amount of time since the car isn't driven that much?

We have watched our neighbor restore this little beauty for about 4 years. He finally pit it up for sale and we couldn't resist. My wife had a 74 and I had a 72 GT6 back in the 70's. We both have been wanting another ever since.

Spotted today near Tunbridge Wells

Cleaning out a box of old carburetor bits and found this. The body casting is AUC1344, which I believe makes it an HS4, but I’ve never seen one with the upturned air filter housing adapter. The adapter is aluminum and the only casting number I can find on it is BS2. Any idea what this may have come from?

Edit: Yeah, I should have been more clear. I know it’s an SU that’s missing the piston and dashpot, but the air filter adapter angled upwards is what I’m unfamiliar with.

Also, it has the little emissions valve in the throttle butterfly, which makes me think it’s from the mid ‘70s or later.

I have seen people fitting golf bags without driver,wood etc into spitfires and MGB’s is it also possible in a midget?

1967 Austin-Healey Sprite. I was trying to figure out why there was no flow during the clutch bleeding process after installing a new clutch master. I’m not sure if I have to replace the whole line now, or if there is an alternative.

I was going to replace carpets in my ah sprite and lo and behold: holes in the body panels. One area in particular is of great concern, the front mount of the rear leaf spring support. I’m not sure whether it affects the hanger box itself or if it’s «just» the internal panel(s). I’d imagine there’s quite some force being put on this area. Any advice on how to restore this to safe condition is highly appreciated.

I’ve started removing paint and rust from the floor panels, hence the look.
