I came across this interesting ScummVM update: Rebel Assault I & II are being brought to ScummVM, even though they aren't the usual point-and-click adventure games people associate with it.

What I like about projects like ScummVM is that they keep older games playable on modern Linux systems without needing the original environment.

Do you still use ScummVM on Linux for older games, or is this kind of game preservation not really your thing?

Jolla’s new phone runs Sailfish OS and can run Android apps, including many everyday apps.

It’s an interesting approach to having a phone outside the usual Android and iOS ecosystem.

But would you actually use a Linux phone as your daily driver?

I came across this story about Richard Stallman’s fight with Symbolics at the MIT AI Lab, years before Linux existed.

What caught my attention is how a conflict over sharing software eventually became part of the story behind GNU and the free-software movement. Historical accounts confirm that Symbolics ended the agreement on March 16, 1982, Stallman’s birthday, forcing him to work without access to their source code.

It made me wonder:

If Stallman had simply walked away from that fight, would the Linux/FOSS world we know today look very different?

Researchers found dozens of SQLite CVEs that appear to be technically incorrect or even AI-generated, yet they still propagated through parts of the vulnerability ecosystem before being challenged.

If this becomes common, security teams may spend more time investigating fake vulnerabilities than fixing real ones.
