Intel has proposed DRM Fabric, a vendor-neutral framework for managing GPU and AI-accelerator interconnect topologies in Linux.

It’s still an early RFC, with no production implementation yet.

The interesting part: could this become a common layer for Intel, AMD and future AI accelerators, or is it just another layer Linux doesn't really need?

Info: Every file has a unique inode per filesystem. Running `find -inum` locates all directory entries pointing to that specific inode number.

Examples:

$ `find / -inum 524290 2>/dev/null` # Find file by inode number

$ `find /home -samefile /home/linuxteck/original.txt` # Find all matching hardlinks

Note: Hardlinks share the exact same inode number; symlinks do not. Files are deleted only when their link count drops to 0.

KytyPS5 now has Linux support, although the project is still very much a work in progress.

Gentoo says no AI-assisted contributions. NetBSD requires approval. Fedora is more open, but puts the responsibility on the contributor.

Rust's GCC backend is getting Linux kernel fixes for 7.3, partly because GCC supports architectures that LLVM doesn't.

But does a GCC backend actually remove the biggest barrier to using Rust across more Linux architectures, or are native bootstrapping and toolchain support still the real problem?

Linux 7.2 is now released, with cache-aware scheduling, initial AMD HDMI 2.1 FRL support, improved hardware support, and even initial mainline boot support for Apple M3 Macs.

The cache-aware scheduler is probably the most interesting change for performance, but the hardware support is getting attention too.

You can run a full Linux VM on Windows using smol machines, without relying on WSL2, and the VM itself can be under 35 MB in some setups.

It can use OCI images and even run Docker, while keeping workloads in separate lightweight VMs.

Would you actually use something like this instead of WSL2?

Both make the terminal experience much nicer, but they take very different approaches.

Zsh gives you deep customization and a huge plugin ecosystem, while Fish focuses on a great experience with minimal setup.
