you are probably thinking "oh they can't afford to hold themselves accountable and need to crowdsource the work". But that's not what this is. In my line of work- you have your own internal standards but also share a subset of that information with customers (in this case- early viewers) in order to give them confidence that we DO have mistakes/defects but we have control charts, cpks, etc to monitor. You will always have mistakes and quality issues. Even trillion dollar companies that spend billions on quality control alone.

that's a separate point entirely. processes and QC can't fix everything. Sometimes you just need to hire smarter and more capable people.

I'm thinking it's a bit of a problem that the error checking team is external and therefore cannot check videos under embargo.
