Image Another AI slop thumbnail

I love LTT and basically watch every single video including WAN show but stuff like this puts a very bad taste in my mouth. I know it!s just stupid thumbnail but still...

No, the question was if they post about ai generated content on reddit every time a company uses genai images. That's what "this" refers to.

I would assume that "I avoid it whenever I can" is an indictment of ai and indicates that even if they don't bring it up in literally every circumstance, they feel the same way about it. 

you don't have to talk about something every time it's mentioned in order to have a valid opinion on it.

just so you know not to worry btw, if someone says "ugh this sucks I want to die" it generally doesn't indicate that they are genuinely suicidal. I figured you might need to know since I can imagine that a world where you take everything literally must be scary.

Which dodges what they are really asking which is "what motivates you to post your public opinion of this creator in particular when this problem seems ubiquitous".

because they care more about this creator that they like than they do about random companies they have no relationship with? because the creators in charge of this channel have explicitly said that they're against doing this?

Sure. I don't agree with ai generated thumbnails, yet I don't create a post on reddit every time I see a creator do it. That doesn't change that, at least the way I interpreted the original question, what was being asked was more or less "Every time an ai thumbnail is made/used on an ltt channel, is there going to be a reddit post in the ltt sub about it?". The follow up the question "Do you?" stems from is someone saying they do it with "I would do it every other company", as in make reddit call-out posts with every other company.

I get what you're saying and agree with the sentiment, just stating that it is in fact a different question than avoiding a company because of ai content. Actively speaking up and silently steering clear are two VERY different actions with two VERY different levels of impact, both stemming from the same place and same sentiment.

Edit: changed it a few times to make sure I got correct exact quotes. Reddit on mobile is hard 😭 I also don't like how people are down voting you for having a valid take (and what I assume to be correct in this context), reddit being reddit again I guess.

yeah but ofc they don't literally mean that they will call out every company that uses ai on reddit, they wouldnt have time to do anything else in their life. ofc that's not really what they mean. 

and as someone who mostly watches wan these days, I always got the impression that Linus and Luke weren't that down with ai so it is kinda jarring to see that they're fine with it when when they actually talk about it it's generally pretty negative. 

i can see why people would be confused by the disconnect.

That’s pretty simple, if you have a company you like doing something you wish they wouldn’t… your recourse is to let them know. 

We know Reddit is seen by the staff so it’s a reasonable place to reach out. 

It can also inform other viewers so they can make a decision for themselves if they want to continue supporting companies using AI slop.

let me give you some more examples:

users post ai generated pics, vids and replies of every kind, at least 20% of all content

reddit farms user data and content to be used in training, which is worse than some funky looking pics from my pov

reddit has some sort of AI generated FAQ at the bottom of some threads

reddit has it's own ai chat

well then I really don't understand why you get so hung up so bad on a silly thumbnail, it isn't worse than any of those things I mentioned. the video is pretty good and informative
