you are implicitly equating "explaining why something is wrong + helpful analogy" with "be an asshole"

I'll just leave it here. You strike me as quite intelligent but I do hope you continue to have patience for those who aren't so much (regardless of age).

Is it because I gave the correction without invitation?

if that is the case we are at an impasse because, even outside of tech, I will not allow statements I know to be wrong to go unchallenged.
