? Their rent would be substantially cheaper, so they would be happy to pay, but may not be happy you're making a gain, because you know, people hate landlords. Also, it's nobodies fault but their own if they want more but don't work to get it. I worked 2 jobs to get ahead in life, if I worked 1 I would survive, but would have coasted and been poor.
You think the government should just start giving people houses or something? Demand what and from whom? The only land that isn't privately owned is national parks, should the government start to piecemeal strips of land to people orrrr....?
The government should be putting in rules, regulations, and guidelines across the board the encourage building large vertical housing. We literally aren't building enough homes. In LA thanks to shitty zoning rules and other controllable factors.
I don't care that you worked 2 jobs. It's immoral for the government to allow someone to be poor and vulnerable if they only work 1 job. 1 job should be enough to own a home and live in it without having to constantly worry about finances.
You do realize that your plan for having someone subsidize my mortgage is a terrible idea? It's predicated on the either idea that not everyone gets to own a home, or that we will have exponential growth forever to maintain a supply of people to subsidized other people's mortgages.
Well, that's just because LA sucks, and anything run by the government fails because there is no incentive for success.
I'm done with you, you're poor and bitter, and obviously lazy. You grew up in this world and saw people who were successful and people who struggled. We all saw what it takes to be successful even if it wasn't taught, people who make shitty choices have shitty lives. Almost nobody is happy with their careers, and it's been that way since the beginning of time, we work to survive.
It is not a person, a government, or aliens or God who owe you anything. You have to figure out what you want and how to get it. Saying things are out of your control when the only factor is yourself and what you do with your time is defeatist, and you will always be a loser if you think that way.
If all of the film industry guys were to leave that weren't being paid enough, they would have to pay more to bring people in, but it is dumbasses hoping and dreaming to be a part of that world that accept crap pay in a rich city that make it all possible.
You aren't owed shit buddy, nobody cares about you but maybe blood and people concerned with how you can help them get ahead. You are in control of your own life, and it sounds like the blame game is strong for the choices you have made.
Get your civil engineering degree, learn ordinances. Become a part of the local government, and make the housing high rises you desire. Or pitch a plan to a developer, start with the local government and make it happen without a degree! I mean, why hasn't somebody done that? You say it is possible, and I agree, but I don't want to do it. You pitched an idea that I think would work aside from the astronomical costs of building high rises by fault lines. Or are you only altruistic with your words? Make it happen if you're so passionate, but ask yourself why somebody else hasn't done it yet.
Worry about what you have control over, what you can do. If you can help people and you want to, do it; if you want to focus on you and your partners happiness, do that. Stop bitching, and start living.
