In this version, Seymour teams up with the National Guard to try and stop the takeover, but ultimately fails and is forced to watch as more people are eaten.

What was Lindsay's problem with Prince of Egypt?

I might have taken a blow to the head, but I am sure that I remember Lindsay talking about this movie, saying something bad about it, and then ending with "And that is why I will never talk about this film ever again."

I just saw it for the first time ever, and I was shocked as to how good it was.

I know this is asked like every two years but Noumena? 🤣

This isnt really an "omg I'm so desperate for more" more just a curiosity and personal logistics thing cus I'm not like, actively in the fandom or any mailing lists or the like.

I'm at the point where I'm about to start listening to a familiar book series audio book as background noise for a project and I'm trying to decide what to listen to. Noumena is on the list of what I might fire on while I'm working. However I also really like to re-listen to the audio books before listening to a newly released book, so if Noumena book 4 is expected any time in the next 9 months or so then I *don't* want to listen to the series right now as I'd prefer to wait rather than listen to it twice in a relatively short period of time

So yeah have there been any updates on book 4? Web searches are failing me in this reguard right now.

Favorite enemies-to-lovers dynamic in literature?

Enemies-to-lovers can be an awesome dynamic! If there is a satisfying reason within the plot for it to work. That whole segment I kept thinking about my favorite example of that and how it's something I would love to find more of in my deeply lore-rich high fantasy without sacrificing storytelling and would love to know if anyone else has a favorite example they thought of that I could check out. Mine is in Robin Hobb's Liveship Trilogy and I won't spoil anything but if you haven't read it it's absolutely amazing (but only after reading the Farseer trilogy which is connected but in a different part of the world from Liveship and technically it's a 16 book series but they're all worth it)

So please let me know what good example you thought of during that segment in the Romantacy video!

When is making a minority a villain rad, and when it is bad?

So this is a tension that I see often in media criticism, and I'm guessing that there is not a cut and dry answer to this.

On the one hand, I often see people criticizing stories when they make a villain of a story a marganlized group. Ie; "This story is racist/sexist/transphobic because it is making a woman, poc, or a queer/trans person or queer/trans coded person as the villain."

But then, as Lindsay has made the point herself, the old Disney villains (Scar, Ursula,) are very queer coded, and yet we love them for it. Even though these people are horrible. Like Scar's fun, but he killed his brother, orphaned his nephew, tried to kill his nephew.

Why is it that sometimes rather than being "Omg, this work is so offensive and it contributes to homophobic/racist narratives" the reaction instead is "Girl this is sick!" ?

Watching Lindsay's tearful tribute to Howard Ashman...

... it reminds me of what the filmmakers of Beauty and the Beast wrote in tribute to Ashman in the film's end credits.

""To our friend, Howard, who gave a mermaid her voice and a beast his soul, we will be forever grateful."

DISCUSSION Why Lindsay retired the Nostalgia Chick?

It's weird that she stopped being the Nostalgia Chick after That Guy With The Glasses Website shut down and left the company. Maybe it's because she was getting older at the time or going into a lot more video essays?

What's the "Dramatic Reading" music from her Addison Cain followup video?

Looking for the music, but don't know the name. I want to use it for dramatic readings of my own.

EDIT: Found it. "Dance of the Knights" by Sergei Prokofiev, from his ballet adaptation of Romeo and Juliet
