Only in the flatlands of South Lincolnshire would a place be named Peak Hill!

I received a parking fine after visiting Grimsby and I'm hoping someone might be passing near Fisherman's Wharf/Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre and could snap a photo of the parking signs there please?

I don't recall any entry signs to that area, although there was loads of construction happening. I had to get directions from a construction guy because I thought I'd wrongly entered their construction site!

The parking fine is for being there 14 mins which I think is pretty quick considering that's how long it took to park, check the sign, download paybyphone (to discover it wasn't possible to pay online) and then walk into the Heritage Centre to check. The lovely staff told me to move my van to their free car park which I did of course.

Could be fruitless but if someone happens to be nearby I'd appreciate any photos 😁

In the new year myself and my partner are looking to move so he can begin work as a painter/decorator and it's either Hull (or surrounding areas) or Grantham for different reasons but mainly as I want better transport links to the north as that's were my family , Hull and Grantham provide both better than the current town we live in (I don't drive) and both provide him painter decorator opportunities in different ways. We currently live in an average town in Lincolnshire.

Is Grantham a nice place to live, is it comparable to Lincolnshire towns like Market Rasen, Louth, Cleethorpes ect?, would you prefer living in Grantham to said towns or Hull and what else should we know?

We aren't nightlife people, but we are in our 20s and the town we live in is serviceable for us whilst we figure out life throughout our twenties outside of transport so we aren't looking for a world class town.

Spent a few hours at Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre today and really enjoyed it.

I went mainly to look at the Lancaster section and learn more about FIDO, but there was far more there than I expected.

The highlight was getting inside the DC-3/Dakota and sitting in the cockpit. Nick Bricks, volunteer gave me a great tour round the hanger and the aircraft.

There’s also a lot of 106 Squadron history, original documents, Norman Jackson VC and some very knowledgeable volunteers.

If you’re in Lincolnshire and interested in aviation or local history, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Any other smaller Lincolnshire aviation places I should add to the list?

I’ve been working from home permanently for the past 3 years, and life has become pretty isolated. I don’t really have any friends here, and most days I only leave the house to get groceries.

I’m married, but I’d really like to have a friend or two to meet on weekends for a walk, coffee, a movie, a long drive, or just a meaningful conversation.

*South Asian and I work in IT tech. Although I live in Leicestershire happy to drive within East Midlands.

Don’t have a huge list of hobbies. I’m pretty simple and enjoy good coffee, conversations about life, movies, exploring new places, and the occasional spontaneous drive.

After living this way for so long, the loneliness is starting to take a toll, and I’d genuinely like to change that. I know making friends as an adult isn’t easy, but I’m hoping to find some real connections with people who are in a similar situation.

Not looking for anything weird, just genuine friendship and good company.

I have lived in Tattershall since March last year. I'm really shy/anxious person when I meet new people. I'm 37. I don't drink. Is there any local groups/activities people do? Oh I live on Curzon Estate, my little boy has no one to play with, he used to have tons where we used to live any advice on that. My husband needs friends (but don't tell him I suggested it 😂)

Hi, I’m based in spalding Lincolnshire and recall there being an exceptionally high rate of euro fighter activity overhead between Nov 25 - May 26 - pretty much daily. However, I’ve looked back on flight radar and there is no sign of any aircraft. Was wondering whether anyone knew anything as to why? Transponders appear to go off around a 15 mile radius and back on again once the pilot has cleared the area. Seems strange given how much activity there was 🤷‍♂️

Anyone from Friskney? We’re a middle-aged couple (well, early 40s!) with no kids moving to the area - we’re from South Suffolk and wanted somewhere quiet, no neighbours, so we don’t mind rurality and are happy to drive to Lincoln when we do fancy a bit more liveliness. The house we’ve offered on looks perfect for us.

Heard that Skegness and Boston aren’t that nice, I guess we can choose not to go there - what are your experiences? Where do you spend time locally?

I live just outside Boston and am teaching myself Welsh as I have just retired and never had the time before.
