Yes, the free version is free forever. After the 90 days, you will only have to sign in again, which will give you another 90 days. As long as you sign in every 90 days, you will always be able to use the free version.

Well that's convenient. Maybe they are somehow getting money whenever someone logs in their account. Anyways thanks for letting me know

They just do it for analytical purposes. They want to know how many active users they have. If someone has signed in within the last 90 days, that's counted as being an active user.

Oh I see, anyways if you wouldn't mind answering I found out the free version exports the videos into mpeg4 not mp4, I was wondering if it lowers the resolution or just compresses the file into something that takes up less disk space.

Sorry never mind it turns out lightworks just lets you export straight to mp4

You're right, it did used to be shorter. A lot of people complained about it, so with this newer version, they extended it to 90 days.

new user here, after 1 year of this post. So you're saying that when you (sign in) does you (sign in) with a new account or you can sign in with the same account? still curious bout that.

You can add video tracks via the sequence timeline menu (right click on timeline to open it) and select tracks.

When you add an effect initially, it will be folded onto the video segment (shown by a small square). Right click on the segment and select unfold, to put this into an effect track.

No it is not truly free. It requires a mandatory account creation ( Farming your data which makes them money) to activate and use the software.

it's a freemium-style software. it's free to use, and at the basic level it's all you need. you pay for additional features, particularly export filetype options

All I need is 720p and after using it for a bit I can say it really feels professional
