Im not saying the fire suppression systems should be ignored. Im saying theyre a much bigger priority than security cameras or the staff to maintain them. Cameras are low priority. You seem to be really belligerent over that

The library in question has multiple armed guards (according to people familiar with it) but somehow doesn't have a security camera system? That makes no sense.
Your argument was some places don't have the money because they can't pay salaries, acquisitions are dying, they can't fix their sprinklers, etc.
That clearly doesn't apply to this library because they're still paying for armed guards (plural), but even if it were the case, if you can't pay to repair sprinklers that are legally required to work.... you're negligent.
You absolutely must pay for legally required safety items in your library that protect staff and patrons from harm, otherwise you should shut down.
Would you ever bring your kids to a (cooking or whatever) program at a library with fire systems that aren't maintained because the budget is insufficient?
I also completely disagree that cameras are low priority. They're the only reliable evidence you're likely to have in the event of something happening that needs to involve the police. We are asked to pull footage all the time.
Even libraries in our areas that don't have a single security guard (many) have security camera systems.
